Hyperlight secondary problem

I have a hyper lite secondary clutch by PEM on a '08 xp, but I'm clueless on how to tune it. It's constantly not back shifting and either putting me in a very bad situation or getting me extremely stuck. Anyone have some info or directions on how tune this clutch? What springs/parts will work on it?
Thanks

It's been awhile, but I think cat parts will work in it.. They had a ton of issues with that clutch.. They are prone to cracking as well.. There is also no performance gain over stock doo secondary...

You should defnitely check for cracks. I tried one for a year but ended up selling it. Have you tried going back to a stock secondary to see if that helps any? Here is some info on the pem helix angles. I might even have a couple at home if you want to try some different angles.

PEM 1 - 53/51
PEM 2 - 53/49
PEM 3 - 48/40
PEM 4 - 49/47
PEM 5 - 49/45
PEM 6 - 47/45
PEM 7 - 47 STRAIGHT
PEM 8 - 45 STRAIGHT
PEM 9 - 51/49
PEM 10 - 46/40
PEM 11 - 50/42
PEM 12 - 60/40
PEM 13 - 60/44
PEM 14 - 52/44
PEM 15 - 57/50
PEM 16 - 55/49
PEM 17 - 53/47
PEM 18 - 51/45
PEM 19 - 62/44
PEM 20 - 60/46
PEM 21 - 58/44
PEM 22 - 58/46
PEM 23 - 48/44

I sure wouldn't recommend running those on a 155 HP plus 800. They were cracking in the sheaves down near the center with lower HP 800's years ago.

I have two of them I ran with no problems on doo 550 fan summits, but only 70 HP on one and 85 HP on the mod. The problem is all that pretty fluting on the sides of the sheaves. They went overboard with it and weakened the clutch, also I believe why the company folded. It was a great clutch except for those dang flutes. My 550 mod fan Summit went where all my buddies liquid cools could go in the mtns. with that clutch.

Like was said before you have to prewind the spring to get it to backshift. More prewind more backshift, spring with more lbs = more backshift, more lbs spring has thicker wire.

What I would recommend is to go back to a QRS doo secondary and put a ShockWave adjustable cam in it. In 45 seconds you can change your helix angle (cam angle ) from 38 degrees (lots of backshift) to 45 degrees (lots more acceleration) etc. and come up with the best setup for you and your sled very easily.

Good Luck
