Took out my new to me m1000 with the slp pipe set and PC, I also put on the slp intake. I have 4 rides on this 07 M1000 153 SP STOCK. It ran all right but the clutching seemed to be off, but in 300mi I never blew the belt that came on it. SLP recomended the PC but said the sled needed the 09 reflash. I did the reflash and put the pipe and intake on with the PC. I rode it today with the stock clutching. Just like it sits I love it....It is way cleaner than stock from top to bottom, even with it pulling 7550 it is great. I can not wait to put the helix on and take a couple of grams off the weights. This was in 16" of fresh, 1500'. LOVE AK, recomend this setup. Oh yah it sounds almost stock.

7400rpm is peak torque and 7600 is peak hp, they seem to like running around the 7500-7700 range. put the slp m7 intake on it

you are better off running stock clutching than the SLP clutching We have tested the two .

WyoBoy-I put the slp intake on with it. It removed the the tube connecting the hood to the air box and made a little expansion chamber at the narrow part of the intake track. Is this the "SLP M7 version"?

J-dog- I ride 0-3000 here in Alaska. what elv. did you do your testing at??? Any hints, I hate spending money on parts I dont use. I do already have the helix on the shelf though.... Stock seemed "zippy" if you know what I mean.

Thanks for the replies

this is it, if you look down into the intake in the belly it has a air horn that necks down the m7 one is a 4" cone give much more air. On my 07 I ran one and nobody noticed it ( didn't say slp just black and used the stock rubber ) and the slp kit + bd box with stock clutch springs and 68g weights ( 4 tower) it was stomping the 08's with the intake you have, 4500-8000ft. but every sled is diff this is just a cheap trick that might work like mine did and made a sleeper out of it. I was also the heaviest rider most of the time.

We lost 5 horses on the dyno (dynoed at 300ft)with the 4" intake on a fully Speedwerx pipe/y-pipe set up on a 2007 M1000 over here. Not saying it won`t work at elevation though.

Actually at higher elevation the bigger intake is usually even worse.

I proved today that the bdx works better than stock intake, i was barely out pulling my buddies 09 m1000 with y-pip, can and he's 60lbs lighter than me, today I went farther than him everytime except for the few times it was coming over backwords and I had to flip it around. 9000ft
on my 07 I was better other m1000 and piped and ported m8's with a scuffed piston and only pulling 7200rpm at 9000ft.

But my fuel delivery is diff than most

The stock intake really sucks if you want to bring your m to life the first thing i would do is get rid of it, i went with the timbersled and it works awesome 3hp gain and 8lbs loss worth every penny, the bdx looks good too it is amazing the difference either one makes.
