I had emailed the customer service email asking about future breadcrumb tracking, and this was the response I received, they are already in beta testing and it sounds like it will be a plan add-on, sounds pretty promising!

Take this with a grain of salt as I don't own one nor have I used one, but...

It sounds like this is currently on some shaky ground. From what I understand, Bullitt, who built the Defy and provided the satellite link for the Defy product, filed bankruptcy recently and laid off it's workforce.

I've been reading that people that are using Defy still have service. Supposedly the subscription is managed by a third party that is still very much alive and well. I'm sure Motorola is doing everything they can to transition the product by any means necessary to keep it moving forward.
