Getting my tunnel cut in a couple weeks on my 163 - Pondering 8 - 9" cut using the CR Racing cooler kit. QUESTION: Those of you that cut - what were some of the benefits you noticed with the shorter tunnel?
With it? Anyone cut "X" and wish they cut "Y" in length?

Cut 10" off our 155s and added brp tunnel coolers ..worked great!!! Picked up an 18 163 and might even go 12" cut ... beyond that figuring too much snow coming back at the rider ....also thinking of shortening the boards a little bit ....

ive done quite a few and also rode my personal sled 2k miles snipped.

Its quite amazing how much more they keep chugging especially trenched in turning out. The more 'acrobatic' your riding style is the more you will like it. They work good, theres a reason the new matryx tunnel is not only short but also swept. Less drag means more go!

5-7" seems to be a nice length for guys who want gains in performance without fighting overheating too bad. I've done one for a guy, 13", it was pretty annoying for daily riding but it did work good, IMO not worth the tradeoff.

8-9" with the CR cooler should be good as your gaining cooling area. All my cuts listed involve shortening stock tunnel crossovers so they heat up more then stock.

Here's a 2021 165 khaos I did the other day. 7 1/4" cut to work well with the bmfab bumper. Ultimately another inch or two would be better but it will work well in the snow and paired perfectly with the bumper. Second picture is a 2016 155 9" cut. I don't have a picture but my personal sled is a 15" cut with a 146" under it which I think works really well with what someone would want out of a 146" sled. I can post some pics of my personal sled if people want. Cheers! 20211118_172808.jpg20211116_100241.jpg
