Crank Shop Twins

Has anyone ran the Crankshop twin pipes on the XP 800R ?

I am curious how they worked, as I have seen a few negative posts, and a couple positive ones as well.

I found a set I can pick up, the seller says they are both less weight then the single stock pipe? Is that true ?

Thanks for any input !

Pipes

Have them on my XP. I have a Trigstad race motor though. Not sure what you have for mods? I am not sure if a guy would want to install a set of twins on any skidoo unless he had engine mods that required them. Have not heard of anyone getting HP gains on Skidoo stock motor by putting a pipe. Stock pipes with aftermarket can is best scenario for stock motor imo.

I agree, I have tried running a pipe on my sled and it never worked right like it was supposed too. If you wanna run a pipe on a stock 800R motor use the slp kit and do the stage 2. It works best but from what I have expierenced the stock HP on a XP is almost max what it could be. I have heard guys getting there stock pipe ceramic coated to help with holding pipe heat in and thats usually 80-100 and its the best bang for the buck. other than a can and clutching

Are these pipe the ones for big bores? It is my understanding talking to others that run them that they work very well on a BB, can't speak to stock bore. If you're not interested in buying them I may be.

from what i have seen the cranks work well on a bb. not sure on a stocker.

tried the twins i have on a stocker and they built hp, although not as much as they did on a bb

I also run the Crankshops on a Trygstad ported engine. I gained 9Hp over the stock single. But, the first thing that comes to mind is the pipes make power from 8500-8800rpm, so that means you need to send your ecm out for reprogramming to enjoy the full effect. As far as the Bigbores I have only seen one set make more power than these. It's a place called Neils Power Pipes in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. I will say, the crankshops make power and are very light weight, but are so light that I do experience pipe cracking at least once a year.
