Well, crap! I didn’t know any better and removed my crankcase at too much of an angle chipping both sides of my ring groove. My immediate thought is need yet another new part (lower crankcase) for this rebuild. Does anyone think otherwise? Would it be safe to run the sled with these chips? Looking at another site, one guy said it would not be a problem but I just don’t know what to do. Thanks for any thoughts.

Sled is a 2012 RMK 600

Thanks mtncat1. I appreciate your opinion. I’m really kicking myself for making the mistake. I was feeling so good about the rebuild coming into place and was excited to get after it this weekend. This was certainly a kick in the ?!! I kind of feel like it won’t be an issue either but just hate “cutting corners” if you know what I mean.

Did the same thing when I rebuilt mine. The local shop said to clean it up and run it.
It's been two years and no problems.
