chain tensioner.... HELP PLEASE!!!

Opened up the chaincase to check my chain tension and everything in there since the season is over and since this sled is new to me i saw something i didn't know. Its a 98 zr600 efi no reverse that has 2 tensioners an auto tensioner and the regular bolt style tensioner with lock nut and the bolt style one was screwed all the way out and now i'm wondering since it has the auto tensioner do i need to snug the bolt up to the roller anyway?? PLEASE HELP i want to put back together.:face-icon-small-fro

Yes, I would tighten the bolt up to where it is snug. You should be able to move the chain back and forth about 1/4 " with everything in place. The spring tensioner alone is usually not enough to keep the chain tight enough under load. Hope this helps.
