I picked up my M for a decent price in October...after getting some minor items, I discovered a hefty crack on the bulkhead that was conveniently hidden behind the isolater by the DD.

So my tear down began...living in Alaska and begin a cheap *** made the project a bit slow, but overall making progress. Ended up scoring a bulkhead in the lower and was able to get it here when I flew back from Thanksgiving...got to love free checked bags :)

Any ways, here's the project from the start. (trying something different with the pics)

Ended up having the oil pump control rod break an end off last night making me have to stop...nearly had a heart attack when I found out the parts $45 :jaw:

I just had to repair my bulkhead with an almost identical crack as yours. Now would be a good time to ditch the oil injection. :face-icon-small-hap The parts are less than $20 to do it and it saves weight and makes the engine bay look so much nicer.

Tossed the idea out there cause the oil tank nuts stripped out, the oil pump control rod broke, and the oil feed line has a hole in it...all things I've been considering

Or if you did the oil pump delete could sell me your old oil pump control rod ;)

Me and lots of other guys on here have pumps laying around. I recommend getting rid of yours, makes the sled run waayyy cleaner when the fuel and oil are a constant mixture.

If I still had the parts, I'd definitely send it your way but I sold it all to pay for more mods. :face-icon-small-hap You don't have to buy the BDX delete kit either. The SnoPro race sleds run an oil delete from the factory and you can order the parts from the dealer or you can even make the parts. All it is is a cover and a gasket and 2 bolts. Stick a grease zerk where the line goes into the case on the bottom and use an old oil line to block off the spigots on the intake boots and you are done.

Is there suppose to be two motor mounts there? mine only has one :S

I may just do the delete for now and may change my mind once I get tired of mixing gas lol

I ordred a complete chassis from the bulkhead to the tunnel extension for a 2009 and the new style tunnel and boards are worth the upgrade, not cheap though $1500.00 for the bulkhead and tunnel extension, need the heat exchanger and taillight with wiring to rear. I like the new style tunnel as it gets rid of the snow better and can tip over easier because of the tunnel cut out along the sides. Look @ a 2009 M series tunnel and you will see the difference. Lot of $ I know but if your keeping the sled well worth the money in the DEEP POWDER DAYS> BACK PAIN, not getting unstuck.!!!IMOP

Moved all my photos in my photobucket and put them all in the first post.

Finally finished up everything and got her running again. Was a long and drawn out project, parts were a bitch to come by for a decent price, but after about a 2 months, the projects all done. the night before a 12" dump too :D

Final look
