Looks like only two models total with the 1000. Maybe they are using up motor inventory. Wonder if they are not selling as many?

Last year arctic cat and all of the magazines really put all the hype on the M8. Now with the 160 hp 800 and a 163 hp 1000 there isnt much of a reason to buy a 1000 over the 800. The torque on the 1000 is amazing, but it is too heavy, and there are a lot more problems with the 1000 than the 800.

Just crank up the RPM's of the 1000 and watch the BHP explode! The 800 even with 160 BHP is only 102-103 ftlbs of torque. With a 20 lb. max weight penalty of the 1 grand and it's capability to make 200 BHP and 135 ftlbs of torque, It is in a league all by itself when modded! But a 160 horse engine will satisfy about 90% of the buying public? I bet the crank was designed for the turbo in mind?

Can you put m8 jugs on a m1, with about 5lbs of boost. would eliminate some of the piston heat, easier to map and better fuel econ. you could also use the m8 ecu so u could use the stock det sensor. the m1 has a 8mm longer stoke, I think it would be a perfect pump gas and go setup with plenty of power and not as many worries.

I am betting that this is the last year of the 1000, and that next year the big dog mountain sled will be powered by the Z1 Turbo motor. I think I heard somewhere that the motor fits into the M-Chassis....... Shouldn't be an issue anyway though as I fully expect a new chassis next year.

Is the Z1 Turbo EXT a hint at things to come? I hope not.

Cat is good at giving you just enough each year to get you to buy new.
What about the possibility of refining the 1000 in 2011 similar to what they did to the 800 in 2010 and pumping 180+ out of the 1000?
Just a thought.

Look at the accessory page for the z1 turbo EXT. They have a kit already planned for a 162" extension.
