Went over to Rexburg Motor Sports this afternoon to look at one, and they are still 2 weeks out on delivery.

Anyone else considering this sled?

Off topic, but im kinda glad to hear I'm not the only one who's dealer doesnt have them in yet. Ive called my dealer twice now and he says he cant tell me when they'll show. I have 2 - 162's in blue coming and I'm getting anxious.

If you ever boost it, you will want a 162. Even though you will probably be switching out the track and skid anyway.

If you are on a tight budget and plan for a turbo get the 162. Boost it then run the stock set up until you can afford a better set up.

Later.

Honestly I think that the 2010s are over priced. You can buy a holdover 153 Nytro, put a good track and skid under it and have a better machine for less. Lets say 8k for a holdover 08 or 09, 2...2.5k for an aftermarket skid of your choice, 6-700 for a good track. That puts you at 11k with money left for the turbo over what you'd be paying for a 2010. The difference would be the tunnel, and having floats up front.

Or you can always go to the swapmeet, and pick up a TNytro for dirt cheap. I know a fellow who finally let his MCX Apex with the 310 kit go for 9000.

I agree that the new sleds are NOT cheap.
I am looking at getting several sleds, as I have a large family and will have to buy more than one.

I have found a couple of brand new 2009 Nytro MTX 153s for $7,600 each. I may pick them up and one SE for myself.

My Local dealer has offered me the SE at $11,700 as his opening bid.

IF its in IF........ ( and its a shock for me to say it) make your way up to RMS and let them set you up. That place has made a real turn around in the last year. Either way, pm HC MCDUNNA on here, he can set you up on a demo once the snow flys.;)

from what i understood is there is alot different between the 09 and the 10. wider front end, floats 22lbs saving in the rear skid, tunnel, better track!!and of coarse...."better hand warmers" apperantly. up here the dealer was asking 11,600 cdn for an 09 mtx and 16,200 cdn for a 10

Yep, there are a lot of good improvements from the 08 and 09 models. They are putting out the sled they should have 2 years ago. The 2010 supposedly will outclimb a stock apex by a few lengths so they are going in the right direction.

I am strongly considering one myself as well, but I'm not sure if I'll adapt to the 153" too easily. I've been riding 121" short track sleds all along, however, our terrain can get quite challenging for a short track sled at times when there is 3 feet of fresh pow on the ground with drifts the size of pickups for miles ! I was considering an XTX, but with the mods I'd need to make it that much better off-trail compared to my RTX shorty, the costs are more than the difference between the XTX and the MTX SE. I'm also concerned about this new Pro Mtn Air suspension and how well it will handle big hits and still avoid harsh bottoming without the normal use of torsion springs. The new rear Float shocks state they can take up to 200 psi per shock, but will that still be enough ? Has anyone on here had the chance to test ride one and give us some feedback ? Myself, I won't get the opportunity to test one out because my dealer probably won't get one in unless someone orders it, where most people just opt for 121" to 144" sleds. I'm very interested in hearing some ride reports if anyone could offer ! Appreciate a good comparison to previous MTX's as well if possible ?

Thanks !

I bought a 153" SE. I have no ride report other than loading and unloading it from the trailer. There are alot of noticable differences. And what really surprised me was how light the back end of this machine is. Although the front end is still quite heavy.

The 153 probably wont rail like a 121 will, but when the snow gets deeper you'll have a LOT more fun.

The floats are a HUGE step up from the standard springs on the 08s and 09s. There is a reason that some of the aftermarket mountain skids use fox floats. I run 145lbs in my rear float, and 80 on the front of the skid. I weigh around 230 geared up and I dont even worry about bumps or ruts in the hill anymore. I run a timbersled suspension, but the floats work awesome.

Stock for stock the 2010 sled is hands down better than the 08s and 09s. The point that I brought up earlier though, is (at least for riding out west) you can buy a holdover sled(chris posted 7600), put a little $ into it and have a sled thats better than a 2010 for about a 1000 less than the 2010 OTD.

I think a stock 08 or 09 MTX would do alright though for busting drifts and carving powder....its not like you are trying to highmark 800s.
