Im not sure why you seem to be having trouble flipping the sled over. When i tried out the xm last year(154) there was a few times i had to flip it over to get unstuck or whatever and i didnt find it that bad at all. And im not a big guy(5'5" and 135lbs no gear lol) Much easier then trying to flip my rev(151) ill tell you that much. I dont know, but maybe it was easier because the snow was good..
Yeah... we're getting some MAY snow right now in friggin march... this year has been rough here in co. The thick snow is showing the difference much more than some nice soft fluff would for sure! I ride till july usually though, so doing what I can to make it work better for me all year long is a good thing for me.
As to stock sleds... I'm coming off a 425 lb 141 14 psi cat, and before that a 405 lb 1000, I'm not much for stock sleds, I'll admit the XM is DAYUM impressive in stock form... but so was my rubicon, or my other sleds, or my DH bikes... doesn't mean I'm not going to get more out of it though. I expect a higher level than what stock can provide, in a number of ways. With things like weight... it's not about "Being able" to throw it around, it' more about being able to throw it around & go hit a nasty azz line at 4pm when your buddies are all beat, or being able to recover from something that would have thrown a stocker off line. YOU can be as in shape as you want, but trying to squeeze every last ounce of performance from your machine is another issue.
Some guys are fine with stock, I'm just not. This is one of the items I see as an issue for ME... and I'll figure out how to deal with it one way or another. More power, less weight, smoother handling, better ergos...
