Hey

Looking for some info on a 98 Phazer Mountain Lite. Jetting specs for sea level to 5K. Engine operating RPM. Any clutching, gearing or general mtn set up tips would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can jet it for that broad of a range. You might want to get a vari-flow to adjust the jets as you change altitude.

Depending on temp a 143.8 will get you from 300-2000ft, a 138.8 will get you from 2000-4000ft and a 136.3 from 4000-6000ft. this is all for -4 to 32F. Colder than this then step up a size.

I used to start at 4000ft and ride up to 7000ft. I would jet for 7000ft and jet take it easy on the way up (pump the throtle and low rpms.)

Idle RPM should be 1600rpm with the idle screw 1 1/2 turns out. I ran it 1 1/4 at 6000ft.

i put a lot of miles on mine, great sled! I didn;t have the mtn lite but had a log track. I think the mtn light comes with 7 tooth drivers. If not that really helped mine. Gearing it down helps in the deep!

Hope that helps,

Shawn.

Thanks for the info Shawn.

Do you happen to remember the shift RPM? Since the sled is over ten years old it might be due for new primary and secondary springs and it would helpful to know what R's to look for.

Thanks again.
