858 Vibration

Mine hasn't started making rotor noise as of yet all the older stuff with the floating rotors made a little bit of noise some louder than others had two identical king cats one made noise other didn't ? Havent looked to see if this rotor floats on the 858 thinking it does that's why it's rattling ?

What's the deal with the brake? It doesn't cause a vibration but a decent amount of noise from the rotor (?) that I can get to stop when applying brake. Started two rides ago, sled has 200 miles.
yes, the brake rotor floats. some guys on HCS reported success in quieting the rattle by installing an o-ring along side of it.

Not seeing any real wear on the other nubs or even that one. Relaxed track position perhaps?
Tracks sitting flat on the floor and suspension is fully extended, I pulled up on the bumper to be sure. I thought maybe the track had stretched and got loose, but it still feels pretty tight. I didn’t see much wear on the shock either. This was just something I noticed. My sled does have a bit of a low speed vibration, but nothing I would say is abnormal.

Likely pulls up with rotational tension was my thought.
Otherwise more wear should be visible.

I could see if that track gets loose it could do the wave effect at lower speeds and could move down and rub the shock will check mine and see what the distance is between the 858 and my hardcore 165 next to each other in the trailer will snap a pic or two 😎

Ever since the alpha came out track tightness has been important. My dealer told me this on my very first alpha 3 sleds ago. It definitely helps support the rail and bogey wheels by limiting the excess play in the track and on the wheels. I have 700 miles and have tightened mine twice. Just consider it maintenence. If you don't it will shave the side of the hyfax and may cause some vibration but I would not say it is anything to crazy. My brake only rattles at idle, it does not bother me tho. As far as any more vibration than any other sled, I have not noticed that.

Agreed on the track if not tensioned properly it can cause vibration. But the vibes I am getting aren't from the track you can feel them in the bars and also on your feet. They are more of an annoyance than anything but I am sure they will contribute to premature clutch wear spark plug cap issues etc. I like that AC addressed the concern along with other improvements for 26. The new models will be much improved.

Clutch balance is a big contributor.

I've heard a couple guys claim they saw a little improvement by clocking the clutch. Basically make a mark on the pto shaft and the clutch to identify the current orientation. Then remove the clutch and reinstall it at different orientations to see if vibrations are reduced. They may be full of it, but it doesn't cost anything to try it.

Only way that works is if crank and clutch are out of balance and you luck into a sweet spot.
Not an ideal solution.
