Riding in whistler this weekend. Renting a ski doo. Advice for a beginner in powder - go with the 600 or spring for the 800? Not worried about the cost so much, but just want my first time in the deep to be right. Thank you!

If you are a beginner go for the 600. It will be easier to ride and get you in as much trouble as you want. IMHO the 800 is more sled than 50% of the riding them can handle. Meaning that the 800 will go places that most can't take them to.

Just get the 800, I've never heard anyone say i wish I had "LESS" power. The 600 may end up not being enough.

I'd have to say if your a rookie rider having less power means they can't go up into anything too bad.

On the other hand they might drop down into something that could be nearly impossible to get out of without an 800.

Personally I'd say go 800

Thanks - I was leaning toward the 8 - calling out my man card sealed it.

Not sure of your skill level or whether you are riding bikes , atv's etc.

If you have little experience then start on a 600 and sell it for much more than an 800 after several years after upgrading to an 800.:face-icon-small-win

Go straight to an 800... make sure you medical deductible is already in the bank ... and have enough sick days to recover. :face-icon-small-sho

Or get the 600 and when you know you can handle it upgrade the engine with a 660 kit or turbo. :eyebrows:

Ummmm, you do not HAVE to use all of the power the 800 offers. The sled comes with a nifty throttle control that allows you to set the pace.

My 110 lb wife handled an ancient heavy 800 on her first outing. She liked the POWER.

600s are a waste of money IMO...

I have a 600 Pro and a 800 Assault
The 600 is probably a little easier on the body and easier on fuel plus bullet proof.
If you are really serious about going steep and deep get the 8 otherwise the 6 works.
