What the title says. Just want to see what your thoughts are and what would you choose. Want to hear from guys that have turbo there 600's. I think a 600 turbo would be a fun sled to have. What would be more reliable? Sorry if this has been brought up already!!

I would like to hear about this too, a 600 with less rotational mass, quicker revs would be interesting. I think a factory built chassis around a 600 motor, turbo'ed would be an awesome machine!

Have rode both. I prefer the 800. Turbod 600 runs like a well running slightly modded 800. The 600 is noticeably lighter and very fun to ride. I just prefer the hp of the 800 turbo. Will have a turbo 600 in gillette at the snowmobile swap shop tomorrow @ destination x.

Friend of mine has a turboed 600 rmk pro. Runs around 8 to 10 #of boost. Let me say it is a very impressive sled to say the least. It is a very well setup sled and has given fits to some turboed 800 pros in mcbride last year. I think he was the first 600 sled to have a silber turbo in canada his installer was saying. It runs very smooth and quick spooling. Will it run with a well setup 800 turbo that setup similar to his? Its very close.

I think if the sled chassis was built for the 600, smaller, lighter than the 800 it makes sense, but a 600 motor in an 800 chassis as is the norm doesn't make sense.

lol!!!

looks like i am the smartest DS kid on the forum then :)

i bought a 600 pro last year wtih the idea that it would be one of the most fun sleds. for a few years i've read a lot of guys asking the question and always saying "that sounds like it would be the funnest sled" so i thought it was about time someone did it (not that anyone hasnt but it seems the only 600 T's are hillclimb racers sleds). i've definitely gotten some flack from people asking why didnt i do an 800; and was the 800 too much money lol.

so far im loving it! i didnt get the turbo on until end of january last year and the idaho snow wasnt the best but i did put about 400-500 miles on it. running 12 lbs on 100ll (i hate mixing 50/50). didnt run across any turbo 800's but i did ride with a few stage III slp 800's with 163 and can out climb them. in the trees it is so effortless to throw around; cant imagine a more fun sled. a buddy of mine just ordered a 2014 BD kit for his 800 so we'll be able to do some good side by side comparisons this year.

turbo kit is 2013 Boondocker
2860
Tial
Cold air intake
non-IC

took a few small tweaks on the fuel controller and its running very well.

this video is the first day i had it on the snow; box un touched. there is a small stumble in the mid range that i got out on the second day of riding. for the first day i was just having so much fun i didnt want to stop and f*** with it. im also only running 9 lbs in this vid; again i didnt want to mess with it the first day.

I'm glad your enjoying your sled.

I agree though,
For me, turboing a 600 is like putting a supercharger on a v6 mustang.
IMHO

turbo pro 600

600 or 800? Well let me tell you, when I decided to turbo my 600 pro, a friend of mine sells the Silber kits. He tells me Silber does no make a 600 kit. He always wanted to turbo a 600. so mine was the 1st silber 600 turbo pro done in canada/usa.(so Ive been told) This combo works extremely well, well enough he is now a converted 600 rider/dealer.Some sledders in Mcbride that has seen my sled perform would flat out not believe its a 600.
I am extremely happy with my set up plus the 600 is extremely smooth and much much more RELIABLE than the 800.I dont want to blow my horn here. you can ask
BrianD (previous post and riding partner) on how it performs if you wish.

What changes if any had to be made to the silber kit to work? What year 600 and what year kit?

Sled is 2012 pro 600 rmk 155
2013 shorty seat (a must have)

The turbo kit is basically a 2013 Silber pro 800 kit with 2012 electrical connectors on it .
Install was easy until it came to install the turbo on final fitment.brass fitting on the turbo hits the coolant housing. (800 is on the centre of head, 600 is on chaincase side of the head.) The fitting on the turbo hosing is very close to the head coolant housing. Loosining the bolts with slight rotation of turbo housing, now clears.
Only slight adjustment on fuel controller was needed.

If you don't mind me asking what weights are you pulling in the primary? At what altitude? Also what kind of fuel are you running?

I believe team adjustable set at 68.3gr. ( near over rev at 7200 ft)
would be perfect at 69-70 gr. @ 8400 rpm. Fuel is LL100 max@ 9-10 lbs.
Will be running Fury 108 @10-12 lbs this year. Did a test at 10lbs once and lost power with det enguaging with LL100.

that's interesting hitting DET on 10lbs. im taking off from the truck at around 8psi at around 5500ft then the ebc raises to compensate for altitude. highest i saw was around 13 at around 9000-9500 ft. iirc im throwing 68g of weight as well, pulling around 8100-8200 rpm. so far i havent hit DET, not even once. straight 100LL

Could it be he's hitting 8400 rpm very close to the rev limiter, and det is popping up on the gauge?

I would stick with the 800. I had both a turbo 600 and then a 660. They both ran great but it really doesn't run like the 800. You have to ride them around at full throttle all the time and while they are smoother than the 800 they just don't have the low end. The reason I did the 660 was to try and get it to have that grunt but it didn't really help.

hummm ..... that's a possibility

ive thought about the 660 for the same reason - spool the turbo a couple hundred rpm sooner. interesting you didnt like the 660 as much as the 800.

like i said above im excited to get some side by side testing with an 800 this winter and see how the lil 600 can hang
