I'm just glad I caught it before I lost the motor... Had a high hanging idle (about 2,000+/- RPM) while up riding yesterday and did some investigating... turned out it cracked on the PTO side right under the hose clamp where I couldn't see it until I started taking things apart. I had an absolute ball on the sled yesterday though... can't wait to get her fixed up with a new pair of Throttle Body boots and out on the snow again!

5,358 miles and still counting!

Use the kimpex boots, their way cheaper and great quality. Only like $20ea vs stock $44

Why aren't u using the heat tape over the top of the boots...u should get ur moderator privilege "blocked" for not doing these simple things we talk about daily Seth!!!! ;)

After doing more research on the kimpex, I didn't want to take the chance of getting a crappy one as I saw the reviews were very mixed. Actually mine didn't crack from heat, they've gotten so soaked from oil leaking over the years from the exhaust donut and/or y-pipe gaskets that I think they more or less got 'soggy' and split. There aren't any dry heat cracks anywhere on them. It's hard to distinguish from the pic, but the crack was directly under the hose clamp and not visible until I took everything loose.

It doesn't actually go down often, and the few times it has, it's usually ready for the next weekend of riding. It doesn't have that many miles on it by sitting in the garage tore apart:face-icon-small-win

Got the new boots installed this evening and she's running and idling great! Definitely like the sound of it idling at 1600 better than at 2K-2200 RPM
