I had the chance to ride a 155 RMK Slash 2.75" for the last 3 days. I will be ordering one next year but in a 165.

I like most of the features but coming from Cat the 2.75 track leaves a lot to be desired. I will be putting a 3" PC on it. I've looked at the Axys thread, has anything changed for putting the PC on the Matryx?

I was just thinking this a couple days ago. I considered asking but didn’t want to get the beat down so I didn’t.

Went from a 16 axys to a 20 alpha to a 21 khaos. And the one thing i really missed was the track on the alpha. I put a Camso X3 on mine and i bridged the gap a bit, not quite the alpha track, but alot better

I used to be brand loyal for a lot of things but not any longer, I use what I like and what works.

I swapped my 20 khaos to a 153 powerclaw and just swapped my 22 khaos boost to a 154 composit m770.

The series 8 tracks are good but imo they just don't have the bit I want which generates transfer and aggressive acceleration. It also trenches more so it's a balance but I enjoy the outcome.

Track choice recommendations really should be prefaced with riding locality, track length, rider style, rider weight. Riding in different western states, altitudes, snow density changes as proximity to Lake Pacific changes and all of the above are many different inputs to the output of track performance.

Having said that, I used to be a much bigger fan of the PC than I am now. I think for a couple of reasons, the chassis improvements and the overall performance of the 2.6 & 2.75 in all of those different type of conditions is better than the worse of the PC. Dragging the brake lever in technical tree chop with my rider weight and style in lighter and less dense snow on a PC was not as good as the Polaris tracks.

Having said that, I would like to try a Doo track on a Matrix and more so in the interior mountain ranges like Idaho and Montana.

I ride all over MT, WY and CO. The PC has preformed the best of all tracks I've ridden since 2013. If the Alpha track fit I'd put that on in a heartbeat. As I said in my original post, the only complaint I have with the sled was the track, I got to ride it in mashed potatoe snow, to .5" of ice on top of soft and 4' with no base. The Alphas I was riding with preformed better in all situations.

What kept me from doing another PC on my new boost was 2 things. Durability and 3.5 pitch. The alpha track seems to work better due to the 3.5P vs the older 3in. Also i had severe delamination issues on my powerclaw which I never experienced in years of riding up to this point.

Hence my choice to give the m770 a go. Drops on the stock 3.5P driver combo and runs good. Id also be curious to run the alpha track if it wasnt such a pain to punch and clip to use on a dual rail.

I did like the Skinny on my Alpha but I'm not 100% certain I want to go back to a monorail type design. I was able to pull some gnarly lines with the twin rail on the ice and hard snow that would have been much more difficult with my Cat.

The power claw is a great track, but we have found that once you get over 45mph track speed, it just sucks. The Camso 9433M cut to 15" is far better in my opinion.

Doing some more looking, the M770 seems to be the easiest route and has solid performance.

Did Poo update the drivers for 2022 or do they still need to be swapped to something that functions better?

The sled I rode had a 2.75 and it didn't ratchet it all when I was riding it, so hopefully I won't have to replace the stockers to save on my build cost.

Stock series 8 extroverts with m770 on my boost and I haven't ratchet the track yet even running about 3/4" of sag ( no weight applied)

I'm very happy with thr new driver and how they work on thr m770

Cut down doo track also fits right on the stock drivers the 2.75" track sleds came with.
