Since it is structural... then even with an aftermarket belt drive... the chaincase that carries the bearings will still be compromised and ill-advised to re-use without replacement of chaincase.
About $250 for the case plus some decent labor time... should be pretty easy in your garage to do though.
Looks like SPG makes a float plate for the G4 that covers the chaincase-pan.... WPS PN 241-07787 (black), 241-07789 (white) $140.
SkiDoo has one too.. black, orange, green, white.

Gotta wonder if that plastic would have made any difference with that impact?
You would be surprised how much those skid plates help.
They spread out the impact and slide a whole bunch easier on rock.
In 25 years of buying sleds a skid plate has always been my first add on ans it has saved my bacon numerous times yes even on my Yamahas.
Well then
Maybe that is the way to go in the short term for me till the after market has had time to more fully develop their offerings!
