I did NOT want to install the Turbo before we finished the break in on these engines as this sled is SO NEW to us.

Turbo will be going on shortly.:face-icon-small-hap

You going to waite for the whole break in to finish? Gonna be a while. I waited one ride, 40 miles. Still got 85% of my doo break in left.

Timing is a BEAR for me right now as well.
My son gets married on Friday and Christmas is 10 days away.
Right now its just hard to find the free time to drive down to SLC for a day.

Did you or anyone in the group switch of with the AXYS? I'm curious to see what your thoughts are between the two, especially after coming off a four stroke.

I guarantee they think they are in heaven. I had a turbo 4 stroke. I have a boosted axys and a 165 850 for my wife. I took her sled out for my first ride and seems awesome. As far as comparing them, it will have to wait until they are both out together. My bet is I could ride either.

One of our group was riding a 2016 Axys.
I will see if I can get him to post his thoughts on the difference.

Wild Bill will sell you a jack or three to help with that 45 minute burial.

Turns our there was a little more carnage that we realized on this trip...

So, there we were minding our own business when my youngest son hit a rock.
We know he hit is reasonably hard, but when we rolled it over we only saw what we THOUGHT was exterior cosmetic damage to the underside of the chain case.

Really did NOT look like anything serious at all.

Even up close and in person it just didn't appear to be significant.
So we kept on riding for the next 3 days.

But then several days later I found this strange puddle of oil under the sled long after all the snow had melted off and evaporated.
Looked and could NOT find a clear source of where it had come from so bit the bullet and took it into the shop to be inspected.
When they removed the chain case cover they found the crack in the back of the chain case that had let lose once it warmed up in the garage.

That is one reason I've used skid plates from RPM Composites for years. It covers over the chain case and brake drop downs. Can transfer from sled to sled if chassis is the same. Last I talked they were expecting to be done with the G4 version very soon. Here is a link to the XM version. http://www.rpmcomposites.com/XM-XS-SkiDoo-chassis.html

Doo those belt drives ever have issue when swamped with snow/water for whatever reason?

We use timing belt drives all over here in the shop, but that's not 150hp, so ???

Years ago I was jumping an 05 rt 1000, if you can believe that you could get air with that heavy pig, and hit a rock on the chain case without knowing it. I pulled up and was talking to a buddy for a while. When I went to take off he noticed a big puddle of oil in the snow. I got lucky and it only broke the cover. Inside of case was not hurt.
