Hey guys. Picked up a 2018 assault last spring and just put a few laps on it in the yard. Went through it this fall for basics (plugs, check and clean clutches, clean exhaust valves etc) just had it out around the house and it has the pidd gauge. It’s about 5° f right now and I started it and after about 1 min the temp light in the upper corner came on and was showing 90°f already. Haven’t torn into it yet but could this be a thermostat or senor issue? Or worse.

Most likely the thermostat, we have gone thru several of them - not the most durable design, the clip that holds the bypass plate in place tends to fall off & then keeps it from flowing coolant back to the heat exchangers.

Just pulled the thermostat and looks good. All in one piece.

Just confused why the red te pariré light would be coming on at 90°f coolant temp on the display

I pulled the thermostat out, pulled it outside and started it. The temp comes on with in a few seconds of running. I opened the bleeder screw and have fluid pushing out. Here is a picture of the dash

And now I’m realizing that’s an oil light…

Yup thermostat looks perfect & we've all looked at the lights wrong at some point!! No harm, no foul put her back together, fill it with oil & go find some snow!
