my friend has a 13 poo and a 13 xm, he bought both becouse he had 12 poo last year adn loved it but blew 5 motors, and my xp would way out high mark it. so to ride the poo was a lotg of fun, but not as relible or as powerfull as the doo

Are you smokin or drinkin ? Good $hit whichever, got you pretty messed up.

thats because the arms on the Poo are SUPER fragile. the a arm will bend, not the bulkhead.

Yeah, finally a manuf. got it right... Like the original Rev, the A-arms were weaker... People bent A-arms ($$), complained, and BRP stiffened em up... Then people bent nuns ($$$$)... Then doo says "we have a reinforcment kit for that" ($$$)...

So, yep, I'd rather be bending A-arms I guess.
Just design them to be a replaceable part; cost and install wise. Pol's are actually quite accessible for that. But definitely not priced properly.

Anyway, this topic is going down hill fast.
Lets see those XMs on the hill in the white stuff. :)

scratchers

Not everybody has the privilege of being able to hit the powder from the parking lot. The place I ride the most has 6 miles of trail through private property before you come to the boundary of the National Forest. I would gladly give up a few pounds to not have to deal with ice scratchers.
A foot note about scratchers.....they are not just for cooling the sled but also for lubrication for hyfax. Nothing quite like the smell of your buddy's hyfax as your going uo the trail in the am.

It's hilarious to read all this defense and accusations again about lightweight here in 2012, when the exact same dribble went on and on back 07/08 when DOO came out with the first "lightweight" king of mountain sleds in 2008, the 154 800 "X" weighed 419 dry I believe, I had one. They were impressive and contrary to al the jokes back then, did not crumble when they hit a "pinecone". They did work well and when you had a bigdickcontest back then, once you combine Power with Lightweight, You RULED in the steep & deep.

You should compare the Summit with the Pro Rmk, not the Assault Rmk.

2013 PRO 155" is 438 lbs wet without fuel. Fuel tank is 43liters, fuel weights 0.74kg a liter. That means it's around 32kg of fuel in a full gas tank. 32kg is 70.5 lbs.

Ready to ride 2013 Pro Rmk 155" is then 508.5lbs. The Pro Rmk is at 150hp.

Pro Rmk: 150/508.5, equals 0.29hp for each lbs.

Summit: 163/550, equals 0.29hp for each lbs.

It all comes down to chassie and geometry, and it's a little early to call the winner before the season starts.

Well, the Pro RMK has to have the worst 800 in the market. I asked a Polaris dealer and they said the 800 was said to have an amazing 145hp this year, he was heart set that it was the most powerful until I pulled a cat book out of my pocket. He was heart broken. I think that this year the XM and the ProClimb will be in very close competition for 2013.

That is my $.02

Dont know where Polaris is dropping their weight. But we weighted a 2012 Pro Rmk 800 tunnel and bulkhead, and that only weighted 23kg! Thats pretty light if you ask!
Anybody know what the ski doo frame weights?

Beautiful Colorado
I can tell you where poo lost some weight. I've had a cat 800 and poo 800 on the bench at the same time and the cat motor is at least 20lbs heavier. Plus the p-85 clutch on the poo is about 2lbs lighter. There's 22lbs right there. Have you seen the 25lb suit case muffler the cat uses? Just a little food for thought. :yo:

We weighted the 2013 Ski Doo Summit XM 154" today, this was the demo/prototype edition. But from what I know is that the only difference between this and the production, is that this has holes in its track, but the production sled dont.

Sled is full of fuel, full of coolant, but 3/4 full of oil. It then weighted 250kg, 8kg more than my 2013 Rmk Assault. More sleds will be weighted next week when the new Pro Rmk's arrive.

This is in kilograms, and the weight is 250kg.

Have you weighed any production xm's or any 2013 pros yet?

52.8 lbs is a lot!!! My 2013 might weigh more than my 2008 but it fells lighter threw the bars at least.
All wet? Full of oil and gas? If full of oil that might be a little added weight from the 3/4 full oil on prototype.
