Anyone got any recommendations for clutching in primary for a 2008 XP 154 with the race shaft and hyperlite secondary? Helix? Primary/secondary springs, weights in primary?

Cheers

I would call Al at the Sled Shed. He probably has more seat time with the hyperlite than most, and knows how to make it work.

I will call around..... There will be 3 of us this year starting out on identical sleds.... All 3 are 154 XP-X's.....One will be completely stock, the other with a shaft and Doo roller, and mine with the shaft and hyperlite. The 2 sleds with the raceshafts will also have secondary's that float. Time will tell.....

These are TurboAl setups on prior year sleds

.. Mtn proven...
52-44.(PEM 14)...red/white Cutler in hole8.stock primary clicker 3..works awesome to 10000'
53-47.(PEM 17)...red/white in hole8, stock primary but purple/purple spring, clicker4.awesome to 12000'.as high as I've been. It has been dialed in from day1 with a little help from TurboAl..2100miles with no probs... up shift / back shift is insane, accelerates all day if you can keep the throttle pinned.& your clutches run a lot cooler. RER has not failed!! Also have a 3rd setup dialed in with AL’s new primary kit setup...have to call him for details. Al also suggested a 48/42 helix (09/13/05) Stock primary spring in 05 800 = violet yellow 160/230
Ok...u want a 53/47 (PEM 17) or a 52/44 (PEM 14) for a summit...gear to a 19/46 or 19/47 (if u really hill climb), a purple/purple (160/320) (part # 414817900) to your primary & add a Cutler red/white to your Hyperlite. I'll say start around hole 6 for your pretension..
if it 'over revs' at the start lighten it, if the rpms fade on top end tighten it. #1 being tightest-#10 loosest. I find in powder or hard pack u can run the pretension real soft where as in the spring in the real wet n heavy snow we would run it tight...start with this, may need to play with pin weight?
