02 edge 800 cuts out just off idle

There is a switch located on throttle side that I believe has to do with idle!! It will cut out and will die from time to time just putting along!! Can you bypass that switch or will you need to replace it? I cut the nub off now sled won't idle but don't cut out either if that makes sense!! Any idea what switch controls and possible fixes thanks!!!

There is a dead man switch in the throttle block. You can imagine from the name what it is for.

Yes, you can bypass it, there is a plug either under the bar bad or down by the steering column which if you unplug will disconnect the dead man and also the kill switch.

A much better solution is to replace it if its bad.
