RTFI , is all you have to do! I picked up an 18 AXYS 163 (new) a month ago and by the way I did read the owners manual and sure enough, that addendum was in my new 2018 owners manual "Polaris no longer recommends adding oil to the first tank of fuel as was done in the past"

Either way, so far I'm "meh" on the motor's performance. That said, I think the OG Axys motor was awesome. This one might be better, but its not night and day to me.

Took mine out yesterday for a break in ride on Rabbit Ears. Pulled a few runs right out of the trailer, tacked out @ 7950 each time. After riding it and getting 2.5 hrs on the engine clock it started pulling 8150. Running 64s for weights so I'm hoping to get another 100 rpm after the 10hr mark<div><div><br></div></div>
Any other impressions from the sled? Handling, and power wise?
Must be 2 hours of ABOVE 5500 RPM. Idling does not count.

I am hoping you are right, service manual states the opposite...
I wonder how many of the new 850 engines will actually live long enough to complete the break in period??

I didn't say I'm trying to break it in by idling, I'm saying there is a lot of idling in the process of breaking in a sled. Loading. Unloading. Letting it warm up. Etc. This is why I asked the question - if I have an hour of idling in the first 2 hours (or say, 45 minutes) do those 45 minutes count toward the 2 hour break in or not? I'd prefer they don't...

You guys are thinking way too hard...just ride it. Let it warm up, take it easy the first few miles (or first tank if you’re patient) to let everything loosen up and find itself. Stop and make sure all the fluids aren't pizzing out. And then business as usual. Forget about the break in mode and just let it do it's thing. Don't add any oil to the fuel, or try to disable, or circumvent the BI mode, or any other goofyness....just ride it

<div>New front end is easily laid over and nimble, will be trying the new Fox IQS when released. Pulls strong from bottom to top even without reaching full rpm and I found the belt riding a little low in the secondary. Going to be a fun sled to ride</div><div><br></div>
