i am buying one for my mother so she will have less of a chance of getting lost. do you guys have any suggestions.

After this many years in Bonners, she should be OK. lol I like my Garmin too, easy to use and lots of people to teach me little tricks.

The garmin 60csx is pretty sweet. You will have to get the mapsource streetmap software to get turn by turn instructions. But again it tells where and when to turn and will recalculate the route if you miss a turn.

But if it is just for your mom in the car type thing you might be better with one of the car type (not so portable) GPS units. I couldn't tell ya which one but they have bigger screens easier to read.

I think someone staring at the GPS when driving is about as bad a trying to talk on the cell phone when making a lane change and trying to shave at the same time. :)
