Hey guys is anyone else in the same boat as me?

I followed the hype of the 3" Camo extreme and I don't really see where it's a better track then out stock 2.6's.

I kept my 2.6 also and am very close to swapping it back in, I feel like the Camo extreme suffers so much if the trail is, icy, or hard at all also sucks and is very slippery and folds over in the spring snow.

Can anyone justify to me why I should keep the 3" on?

My sled is a 14 162 800 with a turbo btw. Look forward to this discussion!

What you are describing is part of the reason I stayed away from the 3". I was afraid it would give up too much in other areas besides strictly deep powder.

The 2.6 seems to work well for me and hooks up far better than the 2.25 powerclaw does. I have a pro-lite 900 sled so it goes really well anyway, but I have no complaints about the track. Hooks up every bit as good as the 2.5 camoplast I have on my other sled.

Check out my post from last year comparing these 2 tracks as well as the PEAK 2.5. I think I posted it in the Mountain/Deep Powder section of the forum. Got a lot of response, maybe your answer could be found there but I think they liked the 3 inch. I would like to hear more about the PC and PEAK myself. I had the 2.25PC and loved it on my IQr. Haven't got the chance to upgrade to one of these tracks since I had to buy an engine instead. http://www.snowest.com/forum/showthread.php?t=354633
Tried posting a link, hope it works

I'm with "Bopper" on this one
The old C/E paddle design was the best ever. When guys call and want o buy a162x15x3 and have the Newer Cat with 2.6" I tell them they already have the better track.

My .02 I love my 3"x3 coming off a 2.25 PC. 2.6pc is way better then 2.25 in every way (I havev rode a bunch of sleds with). Would have been harder to buy the x3 if I would have had a 2.6 PC for sure but another thing the x3 did for me was improve down hill breakin vastly. Witch was huge for me cuz I drop into creeks, ravines, and drainages and the PC seem to fold over and give me the crazy carpet feel when I descend. I probably saved an a-arm or two gaining sone downhill controll

2.6 and 3 inch is the same difference from climbing with a 600 compared to a 800.

Lol guess everyone has different experiences. But I feel the 3" took some power away and buddies with 2.6" climbed easier, not to mention the last four months of riding from marxh to July the 3" suxks!
