wow.... thats truly sucks. Its baffling how many opposite stories you hear. "Mine is amazing ... mine is crap , mine hangs with PG turbos .. mine cant beat a stocker".

Definitely shows a difference but is it enough to justify it? For some yay, some nay.A little vid comparing a stocker with an 860..
That vid may or may not show a performance gain. How about a video showing a side by side run, not running up two seperate chutes, or possibly swap sides and see if the results are the same. I drag race sleds uphill side by side every weekend, moving over as little as a few feet can make or break the run.
That reminds me of my sled/R.K.T. Drop ins vs. stock, might just be me but stock sucks!A little vid comparing a stocker with an 860.. Neither my sleds..
NOTE: When it gets really steep and deep how the stocker slows down and the 860 does not slow down.. This is where you really see the benefits of the 860.. not so much is just a race like everybody like to compare... but in the long steep pulls.. the added torque/power really shows in those scenarios
The 860 is on top of the hill parked before the stocker is even close to the top..
The person on the stocker is much lighter also.. OH YA.. Both are women... Gotta love it!!!! These chicks can really ride...
Check it out..

I think the issues these 860's suffer from are the same issues the stockers suffer from. I would say quality control is the culprit. I've got two friends that have fought their 860's all year. Put the kits on the sleds basically when they were brand new and have had nothing but problems making them work. They've tried everything the supplier has recommended and then some, BUT we see this same thing happening in the stockers. Some rip and some don't. There have been issues with pipes, programming, clutching, DPM's, and so on. By just bolting on an 860 a person isn't correcting the underlying issue. The last thing a guy wants is to have to chase down issues that don't immediately present themselves and throw money at an already expensive toy. Ski Doo makes a great product and no doubt leads the way in two stroke technology, but when it comes to repeatability and quality control I think there's a lot to be desired. I think the real issue is not whether the 860 works, but rather does your stock sled work like it's suppose to...

Yes alot of stingers are already to tight ,we had dyno # that showed 7 hp lost on stock motor so add that to a 860 it can't be goodFor the tread starters question, my dyno operator has run some 860 in his dyno. He does his own porting to them before he install them. And a healty 860 puts out 172-174HP in his dyno. This is whit stock exhaust. A stock 800R puts out 142-146 hp whit standard jetting.
All runs are done 10 meter above the sea
And for all of ones that complains that there 860 don`t work, and also are so stupid that they have to have a can on it. Well, no wonder why you can`t get your sled running fast. Sorry, can`s steel HP on these engines, and whit mods it`s even gets worse. Tried some in the dyno. Waste of money. And for the wheigt reduction, man if your XP is to heavy, go grab a burger, gain so wheigt, maybe you`ll mangae to handle it. A can makes it worse.

Hi, I`ve been told that Santa actually is from Finland. If you would belive it, it`s up to you. I don`t belive a word spread by someone i don`t know, don`t based on sicence whit proof of the word. You could tell me whatever you want, I`ll belive what I can see, feel, and what`s proven. And if you are a beliver of a rumor that no ones know where it has it`s roots, then you should eather bash products that are proven. It`s most likley your fault that it don`t work. I`m a bit suprised about all the people on here trowing on mods after mods, but don`t have the skills to tune it to work as it`s intend to. If you don`t have these skills, hook it up on a dyno, then you`ll probly get the results that you are supposed to get. I`ve tuned some sleds in the field, but always check them in a dyno after, and I always find something left on the table. And RKT who says "it`s in the steep&deep it`s should perform". Yes, of course. But man, if your engine don`t have the power it`s supposed to, where is the "magic" power that arrives when it hit`s the snow? You do the engine in the dyno, and use the grafh from the dyno to tune your clutches on the snow.
