ya it looks like a fish out of water ,i mean it's practicaly a bus, crew cab short box .i have plenty of power from the tried and tru 7.3 to turn some meats on it and still pull my 45ft 5th wheel loaded with sleads.i don't like the big 20 inch or bigger wheels on trucks so i will use the 16 inch wheel.

I would leave them right where they are at. Sure they look like pizza cutters but the perfomance with the gear package and the engine you have is more important then looks.

Too many times guys put larger tires on and then complain about the performance that it has. Going up a tire size or two is like going from 3.73's to 3.55's or from 4.10's to 3.73's. If it's not that ciritical to you maybe run some of the 18's that the 05's and up have?

I thought of doing the same thing way back when but didn't do it after long consideration, I'm glad I didn't.

I run 315 75R 16 Toyo M/T's on my 01 with a leveleing kit. Fills the opening quite well, slight rub on pass inner fender when off road. Not a lot of lost power, haul 30' fifth wheel in summer in 80e on my DP tunner.

285's fit on the stock rims and fill the area much better. You can go up another size, but risk damaging the bead, and if you're heavy, it's a bad thing.

Other than that, it's buy different wheels.

I had 285's on my 16 inch rims and they were great.
I went to 305's and they are too balooney, and a biotch in parking lots. Turning is a pain and they do rub.
To go larger than 285, I would rccomend going to a wider rim also.

Howdy,
I ran 33 12.50 16.5's on my 96 F250, they looked good, maintained the stock gearing, and did not rub when flexed to the max.
My current truck, 06 F350 has 265 20's, I think they look good ;) have much less sidewall flex, and with the leveling kit on the truck they just do clear when flexed all the way. (they measure out to 35's)
Good luck ! Bagger

When I had my F150 I had a set of 305 MT/Rs on there. They looked cool and performed great but they were hell on the brakes, loud, took forever to stop, gas mileage went down and they rubbed on the frame when you crank the wheel all the way to the left.

In the west!
35's are about the best all around tire. a little big to make gearing tall but every tire company makes this size so that leaves you with a broad choice.
