hole in bottom of stator cover?

i was workin on my sled and i see this whole in my stator cover, like down under the water pipe, its supposed to be there, its machined and has a threaded bolt hole by it. the big hole is like 1" in diameter. anyways is something supposed to be here? or is it like a drain or something?

If it's on top of the pull starter and under the hose, it's the window to check the timing. Should have a pointer in the middle of it.

no, its way down under the right front right above the RF motor mount

the pullchord housing works from 97 and up to 05. the 97-98 actually had the coolant pipe come out there but they switched in 99 to haveing the hose come out the back of the waterpump housing. I am pretty sure that is what you are talking about
