IN DEPTH: 2018 Arctic Cat M8000 Sno Pro

We definitely felt the crisper feel and increased power of the new engine.

The biggest hype about this new M8000 is the all new, Arctic Cat built, 800cc C-TEC2 engine with DSI (Dual Stage Injection.) This new engine has noticeably crisper throttle response and acceleration. Arctic Cat claims a 36% increase in low-end torque and 18% increase in midrange torque. All while maintaining lower oil consumption as well. On the snow we definitely felt the crisper feel and increased power of the new engine. Simply put, it’s snappy.

Working in conjunction with the new motor is the revamped Rapid Response II drive clutch which features a roller bearing on the shaft. It allows the clutch to engage very firm at a VERY low RPM, something you have to feel to appreciate and a very handy setup for tree riding. Additionally, the new clutching has done away with the belt deflection adjustment and somehow by magic, auto-adjusts belt tension to keep peak performance at all times. It even compensates for belt wear. This setup is strictly unique to Arctic Cat and makes for one responsive clutching setup.

Wheelies on command thanks to the new CTEC-2 motor and clutching.
