Going to put a new track on my 2013 pro for next season. Ultimately would really like to end up with a 3"PC but they are hard to come by and don't want to drop 1200 for one yet. So my question is which would you run, the 2.6PC or the x3 as they can be found for about the same money?? Thanks for any input

I live in mn but rarely ride here, next to never. Majority of riding has been togwotee area, snowies couple times, Colorado once. Next year going to try to make it to BC and Colorado again next season. As for the snow, the deeper the better, but with the job my wife and I have we have to plan trips about a month out we can't just leave on a whim when a storm hits. I'm usually on trail little as possible and like all types of terrain

One concern I had with the 2.6PC was a couple guys I have ridden with in the past had this on their cats and they seem to be more difficult to unstuck, their sleds were stock and seem to have a harsher engagement. Do you think this trait would follow the track to my pro?

It may have been their thumb also just seemed to require more tugging to get them out

You want the X3 with Avid extrovert drivers and Ice Age anti-stab. I've done a ton of research on this lately, since I'm doing the same thing for next season. For Togowtee snow, X3 is the way to go. Ha, that rhymes!

Yes, I've had the thermostat bypass for the last 3 seasons. Definitely worth it. Engine warms faster, more consistent temps and keeps the temp down on long climbs in the deep snow. It doesn't help much with icy trails, but that's not the intent. Scratchers are for that.

I think the PC is the best bang for the $. I paid $600 cdn (approx $460us) for a brand new take off track that never seen snow. Lots of guys are pulling them off and going with the 3" PC

Scott is right.

I was a big fan of the PC but then I got an X3.

The Powerclaw is a good track but on the Pro-Ride it tends to trench way more than the X3 and isn't as good in deep powder. It's strength is in more set-up snow where the X# is awesome in all snow.

Think I may be confused? The PowerClaw is the 3" pitch track that Carl's was switching their sleds too?

Outlaw-yes that is correct.

Not really fair comparing a 3" track and a 2.6" side by side. Even the 3"PC is really only ~2.75" but I love it.

I realize this is not really a fair comparison but price wise they are close and the 3"PC is still 500 more comparing new price. I have all summer to try to find a take off/ used 3"PC, but if I don't these are the other two I will likely pick from. Some speak highly of the 2.6pc track and that was my reason for the thread to see if anyone has ran both or had experience with both tracks
