I'm thinking about heading to Laramie to go riding for the first time where would be a good place to stay that is relatively cheap and that can accommodate a family of five. And if it is a hotel how far away from the trails would it be. Thank you for any advice

Are you wanting to stay in Laramie? If so it's about a 30 min drive to the mountain.
