XP Turbo Kit Prices

Winter is coming fast and I know I am having to ramp things up on my end to get the product out the door sooner. We are also working with Silber turbos and will be offering his water/meth kits this season also. Although we have not personally tested the kit, we feel it does offer some huge benefits. I know there are concerns about it "washing" the oil out of the engine, but we will be testing to check the results personally.

you are compairing a 2005 m7-t to a brand new xp800-t, cats old technology vs doos new, the m7 never was famous for being a holeshot machine here, the new cats have really came alive in 2010. i also have a turbo m-7 on the origional motor at 3700miles and some change with the turbo, 5400 total miles, i ride with one of my buddies with a 07 xrs turbo and im not gunna lie, the thing works amazing, beats my m7-t day in and day out...only downside is last winter he took his motor out 6 times, kept snapping cranks and blowing pistons, if it wasnt for that i would be riding this sled in a heart beat...wich makes me raise the question to you, how reliable is this sled going to be? i know the cats arnt the power houses on the mountain, but as far as good power with the ability to pull the cord and go, they have the upper hand from what i see. i would love to own a reliable turbo xp.

We are also looking at building a 900cc big bore for huge power for those that feel 250+hp isn't enough. Needless to say it should be a very fun winter for everyone who goes with any of our kits.I kind of let some cats out of the bag here, but I just want to show everybody we are looking into the future and plan on being around to offer a good, strong, reliable turbo package for the Ski-Doo fans. Don't forget, we still offer kits for the Rev and ZX chassis too.

I knew going into testing the M-7's bottom end was week, but I thought with the difference in boost the Cat should have been closer than it was. I was personally surprised. I don't feel the M-8's have a strong bottom end pull either so I don't see them being an problem.

Not knowing all the specifics with your buddies sled it's tough for me to even compare his build and my build as far as reliability is concerned. I would like more info on his build and maybe offer some suggestions. That is unfortunate he is having all those issues though. I know and I'm sure you are aware the 07 engines had some issues from the factory. With the testing we did just on the XP we never had any issue with the engine at 1300 miles. We have changed the kit design about four times to finally get to where we are now with our production kits. We have thrown all kinds of different getting and clutching at it and our Rev turbo and they just respond good and don't give much trouble. I'm not saying the kit wont be without issues as more guys get them and try different things, but our testing has shown positive results and definitely worth offering to the public.

he is running the 53 series aerocharger turbo at 9lbs boost, we thought that crank cases were causing all the problems, so he bough a brand new set, had them machine bored at his machine shop and had oversized crank bearings pressed on, this bottom end was as true as you could possibly get it, hes gone through 3 motors since then, i forget what hes running for a set up in his throttle bodies but hes looking into getting them bored bigger, hes under the impression that its not getting enough fuel while under high boost, i havnt really took a good look at it to see whats going on so all i have is his word for it.

I'm not saying it's the turbo, but I don't run the Aerocharger. As far as boring the carburetors I would suggest getting one problem fixed before adding another variable to the mix. I have and still feel Rotax has a very strong crank. I don't really like the idea of an over sized bearing kit for that engine and feel they are a band-aid at best on any engine. Running out of fuel on full boost should be easy to diagnose. Is he even running a fuel pressure gauge? 9psi is not very much boost for that engine. When set-up properly they will handle over 20psi. Once again, anytime I have had an issue with a turbo system it has been the result of something simple and I think that is what your buddy has going on. I have been there myself.. My last tuning session was because of a poorly made exhaust flange from being in a rush. Is this a system he built or was it a kit he purchased?

hahah yeah tell me about it, my t-m7 was down half of last winter because of a blown capacitor in my ecu box, i tore that thing apart inside and out wondering why it would cut out on me all the time, that capacitor was enough to give my sled just a small hesitation and bog it out ever so slightly, i thought i lost alot of hair from my gf...well whatever i had left is now gone ahaha

Stanowski, are you and your friend running at altitude or are you flatlanders like my customers ??

I have several very happy 800 doo turbo flatlanders running from 9 psi to 24 psi. no failures at all..

NONE use the little tiny areo 53,, too small, to much heat on both sides of the turbo for flatland use..

He's got something very very wrong in the set up that is causing this problem

Dave is putting out a set up that is very well thought out, he's opened his books to all who use this site so I would be surprised if his set ups have even the slightest durability issue..

I will be more than happy to help any users on the flats with doo turbo's..
Carbs may be old school but they work just fine , havent burned even ONE psiton on all my customers doo carb turbos in over 4 years..even the ones runniing over 21 psi boost.

thanks gus bohne haha, and no the only time we ride the flat is when im at the house fiddling on my m-7t or my mod m1000 id take them out to the field behind my house. we usually ride around 3500 and up. the thing thats got him stumped is the fact that when its running, it runs amazing, doesnt skip a heart beat at all and just pulls like a train all the way through, every time she lets go it seems to look like something different caused it every time, last time it let go the hole top of the piston broke off, completely detached. he loves the thing but he is thinking about selling it and getting a 2010 m8 with the twisted turbo kit. and yeah i do agree about his turbo being to small but for being at such low boost it works well, i cant beat him on my m7 untill i hit atleast 12 on mine. once in a while ill let it go to 16 but i dont know how well i trust it at that lol.

This is all part of the game for us though. After too many times on and off and use it finally gave up. We had another used one, but same thing there too. We found a slight disformaty in our flange that wasn't helping at all and this will be addressed this week. Jetting and clutching was good, sled ran very good all day. Changed reeds and went back to stock just to check some things and the stainless steel ones I had in were more responsive. The turbo reeds will be getting made soon and the response should be the same with those reeds. We tested at 10000' and temps were in the 60's and we just had a good time. The video should be coming this week. We tested on a small hill and the results were surprising. We tested against a semi stock XP and my M-7 Cat @ 12psi and the turboed XP, even with a major boost leak and only making about 5psi would give the Cat a run on this hill. The XP would come off the top @58mph. The M-7 never was a stump puller and the clutching is setup for big boost so it takes a while to get it going. The XP-T is just like riding a NA sled, you can wick the throttle and it will burp over bumps. It is super responive. Boost for boost the TM-7 will have no chance and any bossted M-8 I don't think will be a problem either. They just don't seem strong on the bottom end either. The test hill was a little tight for 2 sleds at the bottom, but the video should give a good indication of how things compare.

Yep. 4-5psi on the XP due to a bad flange we made in a rush and only sealing about 1/4 of the Grafoil gasket. The Cat is dialed in on the clutching and was 12psi+ that day. 162'' on the Cat and a 163'' on the XP. I was surprised myself on that low of boost. The Cat was starting to pull the XP towards the top of the hill. June 27th, 10,000' by Lake Marie in the Snowies outside Larmie Wyoming.

Thats why it looked a little slow. Also looked like bots sleds weren't getting very good traction on the hard slushy snow.
