Who has went from a lynx boondocker Ds to the shredder DS?

So my son has a lynx boondocker DS 4100 and its the most predictable sled and easiest handling sled by far i have ever rode. (i have not rode anything but ski doo). so i ordered a 24 shredder Re turbo and it handles nothing like the boondocker does. my 24 freeride turbo is easier to ride than this shredder i have. so i am wondering is it the stiffer shock package on the RE the issue? or is it because its a 154? and all the rest of our sleds are 165'S? or is it the way the RE is set up suspension wise? we will be upgrading his boondocker this year to possiably a shedder ds 4100 but looking for feed back from anyone else who has owned both. may also look for a super low mile boondocker ds 4100 too as an option

I went from a 2022 DS 4100 ( gen 4 NA ). to 2024 shredder RE 3900 turbo ( gen 5 ). I was like a fish out of water the first couple rides. got used to it though and like it. Currently its awaiting parts because I ran into a tree in December.

I don't know the answer to your question though sorry.

I have a 22 DS 3900 and a 24 DS 3900 turbo. In my opinion, you only need the RE if you are really into jumping. They are heavier because the shocks and all the bracing. The DS shocks are better than all the other sleds, except the RE. I hands down prefer the 24. I didn't know if I would like the 34" ski stance but I like it better. They dropped 20 or so pounds. With the weight loss and the 34" front end my turbo is easier to ride and takes less effort than my 22. From some reviews out there the 26 DS is even better than the 24 and 25.

I looked at a 26 re. Didn't have a ds. The 26 should be way better than your 24 ds. The running boards are raised 3/4 of an inch in back. They are a little different than doo. The tunnel is shortened and it is tapered in from gas tank back. They revised rear suspension to crawl up on snow better and not trench. They lost a little weight. You can't tell any difference on twin link steering. You will have to ride it to tell on that. The re felt heavy compared to doo. I wouldn't mind trying a ds.

Got a 26 DS 3900 Turbo in black ordered. I'm hoping the new skis are an improvement over the stockers my 22 Boondocker came with, I swapped those out for Slydogs and was much happier in almost all snow conditions.
