hey guys i got my supertips in and not sure what a good baseline is. currently running n/a apex with 90lb diet, extreme camo, 19/40 gearing, straight angle shockwave with stock secondary spring set at 6, undecided on primary spring. gonna try to start with 4 washers @ base. tungsen washer in center, then 3 washers at the tip. also i'm running X series super tips which shift harder and faster than orignals. but am i even close to where i should be starting off with? each weight is at 78g, elevation about 5-7300 or so.

Supertips require a lot less mass then the stock weights due to their profile. In Sask. your gonna run about 62ish grams on a stocker.
At higher elevations your gonna be damn near empty with a stiffer primary spring.
Load em heavier heel going lighter towards the tip.

i don;t ride in sask, i thought with the aggresive profile i though a guy would need more weight since these shift so much faster than stock. since i'm running 19/40 gearing i thought that running 4 g at base then 7 in center and 3 at the tip would would keep acceleration up but still keep the track speed higher.

am i *** backwards? where and what would be a good primary spring to go to. currently running blue-pink-blue spring

glad to see this thread

Good to see others modifying their NA Apex Mnt.'s, you might try Tom Hartman great guy and a lot of experience with various weights and set ups. TURK is pretty sharp....also might consider a post on TY general section or Apex/Attack.
cheers....., OH definately let us know how it turns out over stock....track speed in a deep hard climb being the most important in my mind.

The more aggressive the profile the less amount of weight u need to acheive rpm,s. Just put the weights side by side & see how much more curavature the supertips have vs the stockers. You want most of the mass towards the inner hole gradually getting lighter towards the tip.

I'm just working my way towards turbo, but i think there is alot of potential with n/a 4 strokes, my dad and I are both trying to get the most possible out of our N/a 4 strokes. 90-100lbs diet, stock clutching, camo extreme, and i would already run neck and neck with my buddys xp in uphill drag. with re clutch and gear i think this apex is gonna perform well. also tryin out new clutching, team secondary, intake, exhaust, and power commander for the nytro.
