Water pump shaft grease zerk???

It looks like your previous owner drilled a hole in the block off plate and used that to feed lube into the crank case.

Don't bother with the zerk. Unless you feel like buying another delete kit/block off plate, just run it like you have it. You do not need a zerk fitting anywhere.

Fill that turkey baster up with oil. Pump it down. And when it snows just keep pemixing your gas/oil and forget about all that other crap.

Your snowmobile is fine.

I think the early bdx kits had the zerk on the block off plate. New ones don't though.

I know on our Twisted Turbo kits it is required to drill the case and run the lube line from the plug on the oil pump shaft to the port you drill in the crank case.

Honestly we had a few failures doing this. You just don't get enough of the premix oil to lubricate the gear/shaft this way. Since a couple guys had to replace bottom ends we went with the single grease zirk in the case. We give one to two pumps of lithium based grease before each ride. No failures since. We have pulled a few sleds down and we don't find an accumulation of grease either. So it kind of breaks down with the minimal movement of the oil/gas.

But it needs lubricated, I wouldn't just fill it and run for a season that's for darn sure.

Secondly most grease systems can be 2000-10000psi. The grease zirk is designed to handle the pressure. So installing and removing is not required. Put the zirk in, drill a 3/4" hole in the skid plate that lines up, tip the sled on it's side once each day, giver a few pumps and ride.

The old plates with a zerk were made by cutler, the bdx ones never came with them, and more importantly, were never intended to be run with one.

A F*$&%ING syringe under the hood??? Who lets the mentally challenged work on sleds???

There are a few good ways to do this... IMO, this is not one of them.

Fixing it costs a MAX of $30... fyi.
