when you read the incremental engine improvment dyno test, if make you wonder how any of the after market reed companies are still in bussiness.
20 years ago a set of reeds in your old Yamaha Phazer made a seat of the pants difference........cats didn'nt have reeds for another 10 years.
the last generation of laydown Suzuki engines have HUGE REED SURFACE compared to former cat motors. For sure more reed surface than 700's could use, cause they show no improvments on these motors. So stock 800, that makes no more top hp than a 700, Sandman is right on, no felt improvment in HP, YOU CAN INSTALL STIFFER AND LOOSER reeds to change the low and mid power characteristics, and that could iron out some bad jetting, but you won't be throwing in any bigger weights to handle new found hp. Maybe with a turbo?
This SNOWEST forum has had more tails of tears on broken aftermarket plastic multi reed setups than about any other problem.
If you are looking to improve the hp of your M800, researching the advertising pages of the aftermarket trinket companies is not the place to go.
