Everyone is saying exhaust is a bad option for the XM's. What are some good upgrades? What are some clutching and gearing set-up's you guys are doing? "Im new to skidoo btw i came from polaris"

I live in Fargo, ND and make a multiple trips a year.

Thanks in advance

If I had the money I would get a rooster built clutch kit, tom's powder wedges and send the clutch off to get balanced. I have the glove box extension from skidoo and like that, also got the extreme skid plate from doo. Added an SLP can so I had a place to put my muff pot. Shocks could also be added depending on how much you notice that stuff.

They are a great sled without making many changes....just set up the suspension/clutches/gearing for your altitude and riding style and enjoy.

WB is right on, these XM's are damn good right out of the box. I would break it in, and ride the hell out of it. If you feel that you need some more backshift at elevation give WB(roosterbuilt) a call. One thing to remember, keep your clutches clean!!! Can't stress it enough. Blow them out with air after every ride and pull them off(Primary more critical) and clean them as often as you can. This is the key to consistency with these sleds.
Have Fun!!!

Skinny skid plate, Diamond S hood, Trygstad 872, Float3 EVOL X RC2 shocks front, Toms emotion skid rear, LW battery, RB clutch kit, C3 belt drive, Diamond S Ti silencer, LED lights, Ras Airframes, Grip n Rip braces, more s mod braces, or just leave it stock and giggle at the idiot with the above mods to his sled.

Basically leave it alone and RIDE it. Whoever told you exhaust is a waste ........ IS a waste. Put an HPS muffler on it (noticeable power increase & 12 lbs lighter), ride it to break it in, adjust your stock settings to your style, and ride the piss out of it.

If you just want to do it once and have it work call Roosterbuilt. Those guys have that sled figured out.

We broke an S mod last year without hitting anything very hard at all. I actually don't know when it got broke. We rode it out broken and I think it tweaked the tunnel. $6500 in damage. Thank God I have insurance and friends that know how to fix a broken S module. I am going to try the Grip n Rip braces and actually try and add some more stiffening to the S Mod and the E mod while we are fixing it. I would love to tie the front bumper into the S mod into the over structure into the boards. Definitely going to tie the tops of the front shocks together.

See if you can get a good price on two sets and I will take one set also. I don't think I need the upper A arm kit though. I bent 2 arms last year and both times it was the bottom one. Both times the right side I believe.

Order and upgraded front bumper right away too. Skins one looks awesome, I have a JT which is also nice. Stock front bumper is crap and I plan on taking you in a bunch of trees again this year :face-icon-small-win .

2014 xm

does WB ROOSTER have a website? does anyone upgrade shocks on the stock skid, front shock? been looking at this trygstad 872 but cant seem to find any videos on it besides the one star valley made. anyone that has it how is it really pull and go?

Here is a list of relatively inexpensive mods. Quick clickers, C3 post forward kit, Toms Powder Wedges, LinQ tunnel bag and the LinQ gas can if you ride over 100 miles a day or like to haul gas for your friends. Also, set your bar height to your preference. I like the stock set up but I am 6'5" and like lowerish bars. Next tier of mods would be clutch kit, lw battery if you have e start(love my e start), JT or Skinz front and rear bumpers. I would avoid a can/pipe/y-pipe on an ETEC. We are going to strip all the heat shielding off a stock set up and coat the pipe and see how that works.
