We a good day on the mountain although blowing bloody murder on top as we watched the fog in the low country. Had to dig in a few places to make it easier to get the Alpha Cat across. Had to ride up out of the canyon shadows to get to the sunshine. Had a nice fresh set up groomed trail to get us up to the Table Rock intersection. Bypassed a lot of ruts that way now the road is officially closed for the winter.

It was a good road ride start to the season. Bring on the snow!

Now for the rest of the story. If you look closely at the “digging at the milkshakes” the cat is the only one that went across before the digging.

At one point all 3 skidoo’s were MIA for 45 minutes. I believe that the only reason that they lived was that they had Kolbie with them.

It was a great day. The snow was better than expected. The company was off the charts. The cat ran flawlessly and cooks a great brat.

What can I say, Polaris make a better flap then cat. I refer to it as my polaris TP.
For the record I rode:
Cat from 78 to 81
Skidoo from 82 to 83
Cat from 84 to 85
Polaris from 86 to 08
Cat from 08 to now.52A10561-E6DC-46B0-AB00-34629D7C8F93.jpeg

CB.8 it's always fun to ride with you ands we're going to make fun of whatever you ride.

Today was the reverse ride from Tollgate to Godman. I had 94 miles round trip. Thanks to the digging work last week it was easy to cross the bad areas. The bad part was the fog freezing on the goggles all the way across. Had burgers out in the fresh at Godman. 18 made it all the way over and back.

Thawed out at the Bone Springs shelter and then a stop at Indian Camp to get goggles thawed before the trip around Table Rock. Tollgate got it groomed clear to Tiger Canyon and eliminated the ruts so we did make good time.

Then we got to Godman at 11:30 and had burgers there.

Was a good day with the return trip having a lot better visibility. See my tracks that left the road where I thought a tree was above the road and when the road fit really steep i realized the tree was really on the lower side of the road. Tested to some sunshine on the return.

Cloverland... best to park at the bottom of the hill than try to get to the parking lot, we made it, but it is not plowed, very rough and was a rodeo getting in and out.

Trails are not groomed and wind drifted in the regular areas... probably 6ish new snow and it actually was not too bad... if you were careful you could get off the trail.. turned around shy of the Misery cabin due to increasing fog...

still learning, bucked off several times, one good stuck, and as you can see the sled was on the side in this picture, but still all smiles...

Was good snow Friday and Saturday in the Dayton side. Plowed SnoPark, fresh groomed trails and enough snow to get stuck in.

Watched the storm blow in Saturday afternoon and it warmed up and been raining every since.

CB.8 said "Is that why I didn’t get any gifts?"

Your Santa was probably on the Turbo Alpha.

Looks similar to your Alpha. Must be hauling coal to drop those rear ends.

Merry Christmas and let the riding begin.

Out of Cloverland... the hill and last 100 yards into the snow park is a rodeo... frozen ruts slick as ****...

White concrete with a couple of inches of loose snow on top, jack asses driving trucks and side by sides have rutted the crap out of the trail for a couple of miles, then it is not too bad... up higer in elevation a little more loose snow, just shy of 3 feet of snow at the marker. When we left it was snowing pretty hard...

Riding out of Cloverland, we parked down at the Hewett estates area... several people drove to the snow park, looked like most had chains on when towing a trailer. A lot of people in the mountains... trails are not groomed, 5-8 ish inches of new, MUCH BETTER than yesterday. Fun day as we had two granddaughters with us riding their own sleds...

part of the crew on today's ride

Dayton side today 12/26 had been groomed this week but 6 inches of new and drifted in some areas. Slick out of town. One 4 door Ford pickup on its lid on the end of 4th street where it goes from 30-40mph. Looked like some skiers had some problems getting up some of the pulls on the Forest Service road going to Bluewood but was all cleared out when we went up. It was clear as we sat 20 minutes to get the Ford loaded up and out of the way. Bluewood had a vehicle sitting down at the Middle Point trailhead observing traffic. Several were in the SnoPark but lots of room still today.

What have you heard about the Sumpter Oregon races Mike?
