Summer storage options: newbie

Just bought my first snowmobile. I have someone helping me with decommissioning it for the summer.

I have several questions regarding how to store the ski over the summer months.

1. I understand the tracks need to be off the ground in order not to warp them. I do not have any equipment to lift the back of the snowmobile up. I know it’s important to get the track off the ground, however, how important is it to raise the back to take pressure off of the rear shock? If this needs to be done I can fashion some blocks underneath the footrails to lift everything up.

2. Concerning getting the front. Do I need to lift the front and add blocks underneath to get the tension off the front shocks? On this would do blocks with a 2 x 4 across in order to evenly distribute weight.



I am in the process of moving and am looking for temporary solutions until I buy a lift,etc. Any help appreciated.

Pick up the rear and put a couple of 2x4’s between the lugs that span the rails to keep the track off the ground. don’t worry about the shocks, your car, side by side, 4 wheeler, etc all have shocks and they’re fine without having any weight removed.
 
2x4 between the lugs works great. Don't worry too much about anything else. Just park it and say "see ya later" til november
 
I bought a cheap 100$ cover for one of mine to sit outside, not worried about that one fading. Its held up good so far

Those definitely won't work with a slash tunnel and aftermarket bumper (looking at OP photo). Actually I had some and they didnt work with a non slash matryx mnt sled either. I use the caliber wheels for front and rear when the sled isn't sitting on the snow.
 
I lift the back. Because I can. Otherwise I would probably not have done it.
I do like the idea of just lifting the track up and placing a board (that fit between the paddles and is taller than them) to take the stress off the paddles. And maybe loosening the track tensioners (mark it, so it's easier to find the right tension back again).

they have served me well on both my Yamahas and Doos.
