Has anyone been to either area yet this year? If so what are the conditions like? Probably not enough snow yet but if we can get some good march snow I would like to check it out. just thought i would get a post started.

yeah i here we got a little snow overnight down there. i wonder if there is enough snow though....or just enough to hide that stump or rock that tears your track appart. Just want to keep a post going to keep tabs on the conditions. Maybee i will head out there over the weekend if i get home.

Lots of rocks in there fellas, take your junkers, fuct a pair of skis in 02 going in to Ram Falls

We are thinking of going in there this weekend as some of us only have time for a day trip. We are thinking of the area across from the David Thompson resort (not sure of the name). We're riding saturday.

Any info or details would be appreciated.

Thanks

Heading out to Sugar bowl This Wednesday (Feb 20) if anyone would like to join. Got the day off so were going to go for a day ride and check it out. Let me know. Rob @ 845-9207

West of abraham lake is the Sugar bowl, was going to check it out but had to go to work. Give us some updates.

Did you make it into Sugarbowl on the 20th?....and how was it? I might go on Sunday (Mar2) if I can coax a buddy:)
Thanks

Was there any snow at Onion? The last few times I drove there in winter I should have brought my flyrod, not my sled, lol. Drove on gravel the whole way to the Canary Creek/Hummingbird junction. Even with all the snow last year, I only found about 2'' there. Did it snow later in the year?

hey Deadwood, we'll be heading that way march 2. should be there around 10;30+/-
There was enough snow last week, but no way to know but go. If not boundary should have enough being in the trees and such. It's supposed to snow tonight?
anyway we'll be at boundary or Hummingbird staging area.

Onion Creek is awsome,,,,,,, most other valleies aer bare......... one of our riders had a gohst join him on the mnt,,,,,,, that sled was lucky it was saved except a few damages,,,,,,, it rode 1000' by itself.

How do you get to onion lake any pics and how much snow. Any one at sugarbowl lately. Thanks

onion lake/hummingbird falls

Went out on march 2, stopped at boundary south of forestry tower. fresh snow, 2 to 3 ft in trees. open areas on suny slopes, the snow was a little thin, trails were untracked with lots of snow. If we get some new snow or a few cloudy days, the snow should stay for a little while. We were going to try onion, but the fresh snow was to good to pass up. The trail to onion can be bare as it's all open to the lake. Would still like to try onion though, if we can, maybe this weekend, as we saw trucks going back east as we were loading up.

I might check it out this week, and see how far I can drive in......as far as I'm allowed to that is. Just kind of sucks that I'm coming from Edmonton.

onion lake/hummingbird

May be able to get out this weekend, may have a few extras come along for a ride. Average riders, new rider maybe, had a lot of fall offs last week at boundary, trying to keep him interested in riding. Anyway probably go on Sunday early am. let us know when, may meet up, as the more that go the better, avalanche terrain.

I'm going to BC probably, but I was hoping to go for a drive tomorrow or Friday to see if there's any snow out there (At Hummingbird). Thanks for the offer, if I end up not going to BC I'll go for sure. If there's greener guys that's fine, I've only got a couple of years myself and I remember all to well how much I hated it at first, lol.

ride on sat.

So we are heading into Ranger on sat. If you can make a sat ride you can tag along,,,,,, we went to Onion last sat and was great!!!! but want to try and get into the valley at Ranger,,, all the same staging but different trail than onion. let me know if you can make it. don't worry about not ridding lots as just about every time i stopped i was stuck,,,,,,,, I am a true AB boy,,,,,, :D

Hey, my buddy just confirmed that we are going to Elkford on friday for the weekend, so I won't make it this time but if you're going again I would like to sled in that area. thanks!
