Stealth Trailers ??????

I just bought the Predator, the build quality is very average, not outstanding buy any means. I ordered the insulation package, the dealer led me to believe that the insulation was foil faced styrofoam, whil installing the 110 volt electrical system I discovered the insulation consisted of foil faced bubble wrap?! The brochure says the wall studs are 16 inches on center and mine were 24 inches on center?! I tried to contact the factory for some answers and have heard nothing back from them. The aluminum frame also has a silver paint on it which is already starting to look bad after one month of use. Over all I'm a little disappointed and we will leave it at that.

If you don't mind, keep me posted on what you find out. Your the first person that I've come across with any issues.

Thanks for the input!!

Trailer

I orderd one last year 7x29 i went to the factory and got it myself, i have around 10000 miles on it now with no problems, but they are a cheaper trailer the finish on them is on sale 1 to 10 i would say 6,

I would also give mine a "6" in the fit and finish category. Bubba, I see you are from Turkey Ridge, my parents live in Viborg and a few cousins around that area.

For less than what you pay for anew "mid-level", you could buy a used "top tier" trailer (featherlite, aluma, nashcar etc) & get more years of satisfaction & at the end get more out of it on resale or trade.

We do not settle for mediocrity on our sleds, why should we on our trailers?

Went to look at a brand new Stealth Predator 31 footer / triple axle / 6' 6" high. This trailer was a special order as they only advertise a 29 ft. trailer as their longest in the Predator series. The triple axle was also a special order along with "E" channel running on the inside as well and the extra 6 inches of height.

As far as axles, standard is 3500# torsion and you can upgrade to 5200#. When you go triple axle they automatically go three 3500# leaf spring axles. Still undecided on a triple axle or tandem???????

Nice trailer but you can tell in some places that it's a little cheaper but after all they are cheaper, so you have to expect it some where.

The fenders are a little lighter then the normal fenders but hot a huge deal. Aluminum 15" wheels are standard and actually look good.

Interior is finished out nice but the lower kick plate is wood instead of aluminum tread plate. The rest of the interior is the normal vinyl covered wood with white button head screws.

Standard stud spacing is 24 o.c. but you can order it 16 o.c.

Cabinets are nice but seem a little lighter weight then others, not a huge deal.

Outside was smooth and looked good with no waves. The finish work on the outside edges are just standard straight edged pieces of aluminum, nothing rounded or fancy here. Obviously another area in which to save some money.

Loading lights on the front and rear are standard and the running lights are all LED and look pretty good.

Wiring appeared to be ran on the outside of the frame rails in spots but was encased in wire loom. I assume another way to save some money again.

Door hardware isn't bad but standard is NOT corrosion resistant. You can upgrade to corrosion resistant though.

The new owner seemed really happy and has had it out west a few times with no issues.

All in all, it's actually a nice trailer, it's no Cadillac but for the money I think it would do the job just fine.

Here's some pics if anyone is interested,

I ordered mine to haul sleds and cars, I got cheap and went with a steel frame, first mistake, second was a less than thorough inspection when I picked it up, when I got home I found some defects in the top fiberglass cap. My biggest complaint is how short the tongue is, my last enclosed had 2 20 pound propane bottles on the tongue behind the jack, the stealth has the jack a few inches from the front of the trailer, same distance from the jack to the coupler on both trailers. You can hit the trailer with the pickup just by turning tightly.

I ordered a new Stealth 8.5x31 trailer last year. A few mistakes that I made..
(1) I ordered a steel frame..Made the trailer cheaper but alot heavier..I too wanted to use it as a car tailer but just too heavy.. 4200lbs
(2) I ordered the 24in alluminum on the bottom..After 6 months the alloy looked terrible. After much conversation with the dealer and factory they did replace it, but it took alot of bitchen!!!They did replace it with Alloy diamond plating.. Looks better now.
(3) I ordered the insulation also.... Seams to be all bubble wrap..WHAT A JOKE.
(4) Otherwise I really like the interior and wiring and the a/c unit..

Bubble-Wrap for insulation? That right there tells me they have some brain dead engineers and builders, or they go cheap in alot of areas you might not have noticed ( bearings, brakes, etc.) The trailers do look nice from the picture's I have seen, but looks and reliability are not mutually dependent on one another.

I've got the exact trailer you're speaking of and really like it. Finished the interior myself so insulated properly. Have half the money into it of the other aluminum brands. Beat it for two years and 15k miles and it still looks new. For the 8k I have into it I'll use it for 5 years and still get good money out of it

If your looking into the stealth trailer line I would also suggest Look trailers. It is virtually the same trailers as far as looks go, but they do some nicer things such as a two foot diamond plate kick plate, and totally finished interior i.e the ceiling. Look actually bought out the pace american trailer line so to me they aren't slacking on quality. If you want I could get you some pictures of our 7x29 that we got this year just PM me.
