So I want to LIGHTEN up my 24 Turbo Summit and make her more NIMBLE...

I did a mini weight loss project on my '21 turbo. Used Diamond S can, Mtn Fit headlight delete, removed sway bar, removed extra foam & plastic under hood, removed belt guard plastic. It totalled 17lbs and I have about $450 into it. I can feel the difference, but it still handles slightly heavier than my dad's '19 850.

$450 for -17lbs is GREAT!

still not seeing the return on investment for the Carbon Hood.
Just not seeing hard weight savings numbers to justify it?
They said stock was 13 and theirs was 4 pounds. 9 pounds out of one item is a big deal anymore with new sleds. Carbon skid and a can are about the only items with more. That 9 pounds is also up high. Actually more than 9 off front because you lose your storage that you probably had another 2 or three pounds in.

The way I read it
Stock = 13lbs
Carbon = 4lbs LIGHTER than stock.??????

Negative. Carbon hood is 4 pounds. A skinz hood for a polaris loses like 7 or something and is not carbon.
It is on the zero composite website. Viper hood weights 4 pounds.
Right you are.
My Mistake, the Carbon hood is clearly 4lbs.
The issue was the weight of the OEM hood.

Do we have a hard known weight for the Gen5 Summit Hood?

Swedish Cariboux just introduced a hood for Lynx and they are also coming out with a hood for Doo too.

If they come out with a hood that has airbox integrated, that would the best option considering price and weight loss.

My friend has their hood on his Pol and its good quality product with reasonable price.

so far it looks like everything on that site is for POLARIS?

Here's 4.5lb for $1300: https://alternativeimpact.com/product/2017-23-ski-doo-gen4-gen5-36/

Going to 34" would yield some additional ease in tipping side to side, at the cost of some trail handling. Probably need a spacer in the shocks too, but wouldn't be a big deal if someone was already rebuilding/valving them for you. https://alternativeimpact.com/product/ski-doo-34-gen4-gen5-titanium-true-clearance-arm-kit/

Upgrading to Ti lower rod ends for another $175 would drop another 1/2lb.

Weight = 8 lbs

Is OEM really 12.5lbs????
