What are some good websites to buy new or used lenses on? I have a canon DSLR that came with a kit lens and want to upgrade to some new glass this year but the local shops don't seem reasonable on their prices.

Also, any recommendations on tripods?

I've had real good luck on Ebay. Cametacamera is where I bought my Nikon from. I'm looking at getting a Tamron 18-270, should be able to get almost all of the pics I want with this one lens. I've found this lens available on E-bay new for under 600.00 and used in the high 4's.

Thanks for the links Dunatic, didn't find what I was looking for there but definitely some nice lenses.


I only found a handful of listings for the lens I want on Ebay, and the prices weren't far enough below new to justify to me. I guess I'll keep checking, maybe something will show up.

have you tried Amazon.com? they actually will price match and have decent prices to begin with. They also have good return/warranty policies.

I usually shop around and then get www.pictureline.com to price match.
