What track speed is everybody getting out of there turboed DOO's

List sled, turbo set up, Track lenth and gearing,Track speed climbing and also along flats?

I will start

rev & XP Turbo performance 66 Aero turbo kit. Climbing around 60. Flats 100 mph. stock gearing 163 track

1200 4 stroke Turbo performance Hill billy deluxe kit. Climbing around 70
Grass drags 125-130 Different gearing between climbing and drags. 174 2.5 track.

Old 670 rotax aero was 55-60 mph climbing 151 track

I have found that as a generalization we can almost double track speed in a climb. Ground speed? Not sure. Definitely notice the difference though. On the flats, ain't got time to peak:eek:. Cruising is typically around 70-80mph:face-icon-small-hap.

I've had a consistant track speed of 84 to 87 mph climbing in the powder on a decent pull. Stock was about 38 to 42 mph also depending on the wetness. I'll try to use my helmet cam and set it on the speedo and the mountain then put it on youtube. Also i'll try to let people know when im heading up the mountain to ride . Usually i go to saratoga or bear lodge. But willing to go where ever i need to . Call rodney at 605-391-5902 or leave mesage at 605-391-8939.

If your pulling that kind of speed thats really impresive. What hp are you pushing??? Must be close to 380.

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr you forgot you switched the speedo to KPH

Not sure exactly what horse is but should be around 240 to 275. should dyno it some time. But i make a pull , l:eek::eek:k at speedo and thats what i see. Last year Dave Halverson and I went to saratoga after a good storm, we found some great pulls to try, thats when i seen 87 mph for track speed up the mountain.

That's when you had the Power Stroke hammered to the fire wall with the sled on the trailer towing it up the mountain to ride ;):D:D.

Just yanking yer chain. Do you have Nick's CPI pipe laying around over there? I couldn't find it.

You know, it is simply too hard to put an exact number down to what you will see out of any sled turbo or not.

I have had different NA sleds turn 30 in some conditions and 55 in others with the same setups. Turbo numbers are no different. They change from the snow conditions and more importantly they change from the hill you are pulling. I talked to a buddy of mine that has been up some the scariest stuff in Canada and he said that his M8 turbo ran around 45 mph on the pulls he does on setup powder last year at 13 psi boost.

Now, I would love to tell you that a well done Doo turbo will produce CONSISTANT 84 mph track speeds...but I cant say that. Consistant is the problem word. Put that same setup that turned 55 NA or 87 boosted in a 60 degree chute after a minute of WOT pull on British Columbia April snowpack and dont expect to see numbers anywhere near those.

another thing people totally forget to factor in is the fact that when you swap smaller drivers on... the tach reading is artificially high, i know a lot of people who swap drivers and switch tracks and forget these things. i know i wondered how i was getting 55mph track speed in lead snow with my 1000sdi 162... it was more like 45 with the reduction from smaller drivers.

i managed to adapt the yami speedo sensor setup onto my driveshaft... ill be sure to get back to you guys will all kinds of numbers as soon as we get her out and tuned on some snow!

Track speed

what type of track speed should be looking for on a turbo Xp on pump gas? then what about on race gas? just tring to compare

i have montored a few xps track speeds, the guys we ride with that are stock were seeing anywhere from 45 to 49mph, BB was seeing around the 53 to 60mph, these results were on 154" tracks

i would exspeck at least around the 65plus out of a turboed 800 in general

my buddys homemade turbo 800 produces 68mph track speed on a rev chassie

860 HO with twin aerochargers

on pump gas, and 6 psi of boost, in at least 18" of fresh snow, moderate hill aound 40 degree slop... i consistently get 70 mph.

race fuel and 8-9 psi similiar hill /snow conditions, its 105 mph. Goin down the trail about 55..pin the throttle and it gets squirrelly and leaves a 5" deep groove. Thats with a 136".... and you wont believe where it goes, its all about track speed! :face-icon-small-hap

no kidding< love the internet, my 300+hp apex just sees 85ish mph on special snow cond. 60-65mph is realistic, my m8 @11-12lbs was at 65ish.

Interesting subject i think that the differences in conditions play a large factor as well. I just rode my 600 etech boondocker turbo saturday and had my 09 and 2010 stock 800 summits with me. The hill was not what you would call real steep but not bad. The hill was well played on because of lack of snow and both 09 and 2010 800 would always get 54-55 MPH and the little etech would get 68-69 MPH I ran it at 11.5 lbs of boost. Not to bad I thought for a 600.
