RPM economy kit with or without Skidoo skid?

Just got my RPM parts, amazing quality!! Anyway, I bought the economy kit for my expert and I’m wondering if it’s better to run the kit with a skidoo skid plate or if it’s fine to run it without? I do not have the Skidoo skid but I’m not opposed to getting one. Thanks!

if you use it without a skidplate the leading edge of the heat exchanger guard will not be protected and i can see that easily snagging on something.
