Regearing 2007 RMK 600???

I bought a 2007 RMK 600 155 track last year for my girlfriend and would like to change out a sprocket to lower the gearing. Need a little more track speed off the line. What sprocket do I need and do I have to change the chain? Would prefer not to change the chain.

Thanks,

James

I have mine at 19:45, stock chain and it gives bigger, newer sleds fits off the line.

Is yours an RMK? 19/42 should be the biggest that would work with the stock chain or possibly 19/43 if the chain is stretched a little. 18/44 is a great combo for that sled, top speed will be around 70-75.

Here are the most common gears that will work with a 74 pitch chain, An 18 top gear will also fit but that small of a gear is hard on your chain and can create drag. I run a 19/42 combo on my D7.

20/39 74 pitch
20/40 74
20/41 74
20/42 74
19/40 74
19/41 74
19/42 74
19/43 74

I just re-read my post... Fat fingers and small keys are a bad combo. 19:43 is what I thought I typed.

Stock Gearing looks like 19/41. If I am trying to loose some top end speed and gain low end power, whats the ideal ratio? 19/43 or 19/40?

19/43 does work very well with stock chain and got mine from WPS. It's going to be a tight fit and everything must line up perfectly or it won't slide on. Your gonna also ditch the chain tensioner but still screw the bolt in to block the hole.

Wow. Switching to a 19/43 was next to impossible. I got it on after 45 minutes of trying. I too had to ditch the tensioner which based on how tight the chain is, won't be missed! Thanks for all the help. I would not suggest the 43 but rather the 42 unless you know your chain has stretched. My chain had 1600 miles on it and clearly did not stretch enough to make it easy.
