Rear skid install

I took the rear skid off of my 04 xc sp (regular edge chassis) to PM it and put some heavier torsion springs. I took the aluminum block off where the rear mounting bolts go to get the new springs on. My black magic marker rubbed off so I lost the alignment when putting back together. I noticed a small hole in the splinned shaft so I thought it made since to line the gap in the aluminum block up with that hole. I can't for the life of me get the two rear mounting holes to line up to bolt the skid back in place.... I'm thinking the aluminum block needs to be moved a few tics to the left on the splinned shaft but I'm looking for some advice.

The aluminum block should only go on in one spot. The trick is to bolt the front of the skid frame on the sled then use a ratchet strap to compress the suspension until every thing lines up.
