PSI genesis III

Hey guys, I bought a sled from a friend of mine that has a Genesis engine in it. He told me that its a cat 700 bottom end and its an 890 but wasnt really sure on it. I have it out of the sled now to change crank seals and on the bottom of the cases is a big plate like a main girdle or something and on the front of the cases is a small strip welded on just below the cylinders. the crank doesnt look stock either, and its all welded. I found the right crank seals at the local cat dealer, but I need new reeds for it and am not sure what to order them for. it has V force deltas in it now. I am curious if anyone on here knows much about these motors, I can post up some pics if that helps.

This is the only pic I have right now

I see you have something disconnected since it's zip tied to the water coolant rail.

Reeds for the 700 should fit. Measure what you have and cal V-force. You could call Bruce at PSI also. 801-393-4835 Let us know if he answers!!!!

Yes im positive its not a stock engine with dial a domes, I have had it apart. I have read that PSI is not all that popular these days, but this thing does make some decent power. If it will hold together through the season I will be happy as I plan on getting a new sled next year.

What I have disconnected is the oil injection I need to get a different cable.

Most of their engines DO make power. Mine does....it's just that many people have expressed problems with service.

The reed cages on that motor are just 700 polaris reeds so they are easy to get. It could be a stock crank that is welded or it may be a 950 version of that motor if the crank looks cast it is probably stock, if it looks like it has beem machined out of billet it is a 73 mm stroke and is a 950. JPM

So, the case isnt cat? the crank does not look cast, I thought it looked like billet but wasnt sure what it was. I will try and measure the stroke and take some pics of the reeds. also, what carbs should be on this motor? I think the ones on it are way too small.

I think RAD is done. Out of biz. I heard he was into kiddie p o r n. Not kidding.
