is anyone running the PC V with autotune on their low boost turbo nytro. im just wondering on how well it works. im trying to find something to replace the gems controller on my mpi turbo. i ride at 1500ft and go west to 9-11000 ft. i just want something simple and easy to tune. any thoughts and suggestions are apreciated.

Boost-It rocks on the Nytro.....

Is the GEMS not working, or do you run out of fuel (lean out) at 1500ft? I had a GEMS box on my PL Nytro back in 2008. It couldn't supply me enough fuel at 10psi boost/2000ft. But your low boost kit should only be making like 5psi at 1500ft..

I tired many different systems and combinations of systems.. By far the Boost-it was/is the best solution.. But in your case this is almost overkill for a low boost application. PM NM on here for details. I run the Boost-it system, as part of the install you remove your stock (in tank) fuel pump and regulator and install an external MSD 2225 pump and rising rate 1:1 Malpasi fuel pressure regulator. This basically gives you a fuel system very similar to what MCX uses on the 270 kit but with full adjustment, data logging, and lean detection.. It's really sweet but for you is likely more then you need.

If your just a little lean maybe try a rising rate regulator and a bigger fuel pump first..The stock Nytro fuel system isn't near as good as the Apex in this regard.

its just really finicky trying to get the afrs were they need to be. seems like the subdle changes on the gems moves the AFR a long ways. i dont believe im running out of fuel cause WOT seems to be spot on if not a bit rich its the mid range thats a pain. i know a lot of guys like the boost-it system (i havent heard anything but good things) but like youve said itmay be a bit overkill for me. theres an oportunity to get into the PC V with autotune and lcd display for a pretty reasonable price i just wanted to know if guys were having good results with it or if id be better off spending a bit more money for something better. thats why i like checking with the people on here first cause everthings been tried and everyone offers valid points on what does/doesnt work. its way better then checking the depth of water with both feet if you know what i mean.
thanks for the insight guys. im still listening if anyones got suggestions

I am running a Pure Logic Preset by Dean @ Alpine on my low boost Trask/alpine rear mount.. going for first ride saturday.. Alpine says I wont need to touch it and that there numbers are very good.. We will see, i sure hope so, because like you I will only be running 8-10lbs MAX so a boost-it is a bit overkill... (for know :)))

I talk to allen from Ulmer Who runs power commander 3 with his turbos.. and he said that the auto tune does not work with the turbo nytros... he also suggested running a different pump and Reg.

Thread bump.
Just looking for updates on Yammy turbos and power commander combos out there. I got a buddy that's looking for fueling solutions for his turbo nytro... I think it's an alpine set-up. He's got a pure logic box that just doesn't cut the mustard.

I ride an m1000 myself- with a PCV+LCD+AT. Been talking with dynojet about this combo on the nytro and they are pretty convincing- especially on the pressure table setup- where I can define up to 10 more maps at 10 different boost pressures- and have it all run on auto tune if I want.

Just wondering what people got out there. I wouldn't mind seeing an actual map on my computer, anybody willing to email me one?

Thanks.

i know have 300 miles on my alpin/trask low boost kit.. i run around 8lbs boost on AV.. Have Deans preset attitude or whatever fuel box he sells and it runs great.. no lean spots.. maybe a tad rich in a few spots but not seeming to effect performance.. and there have been very few days where fuel is an issue.. so not that rich.. but point being i DO NOT TOUCH it.. it just runs.. (dont which fuel box because i have never touched it since i install it!)
